Family History

In the late 19th century, a textile trading concern was established by a noble and versatile businessman named Mr. Bihari Lal Khanna (Great grandfather of Mr. Rajiv Khanna, the current owner), who was also the first to have imported a Textile Processing and Finishing Unit and installed it in Amritsar for his trading company. Later in about 1950, both his sons expanded to a carpet business, bought a small village in Bhadohi, near Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and named it Khannapur and have carried the reputation and tradition of genuine designs and quality production into building a rich legacy of knowledge which eventually translates into the perfect design and quality, for you. One of the oldest families in the Hand Made/Knotted Rugs and Carpets (weaving) business in India, the family business has now converted into a corporate business, is being now run by the family’s third genera tion with fourth one on its doorsteps. During the 64 years journey, the company has crossed many mile services.
