RSS Feed Definition
• What is a RSS Feed?– RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication – RSS is a subscription service that notifies subscribers when new
content has been published to a web page. • What are the advantages of RSS Feeds
– A user is notified immediately of published updates to a website– A user can collect content from multiple websites and stay
updated without visiting each site often.– Feeds can contain a simple link to the source or the complete
content including attachments– Reduces messages in mailbox (doesn’t use email address)– Email (as well as other private info) cannot be sent to third
parties; user’s name are not requested
