Goals..
• None specific to begin with, only had in mind my interest in cultures.
• Soon to realize the importance of the projects subject, the Bedouin.
• Global awareness, the vanishing of traditional cultures.
The Project..
• Three Different Products-
• The Music:– The Oud and the Rabab– Research on genres
• The Research Essay:– Research on aspects of the desert nomads life
• The Tent:– Accurate to design and tradition– Expose the audience to how these people lived– Museum exhibit-like display, Bedouin culture visually
embedded into the product
The Process..
Challenges and Discoveries
• Find a fabric that matched goat’s hair characteristics• Sewing the fabrics together• Becoming familiar with the music• Discovered further interest in history and cultures, and a desire to
continue research through anthropological studies.• Discovered how difficult it was to link three products together in order to
complete the installation.
Skills and Knowledge Acquired
• Understanding the importance of further research on the disappearing traditional cultures of the world.
• Acquired the skill to stick to strict deadlines and dedicate myself to a topic.
• Acquired the ability to sew, through which I learned patience.
