HUSKERS TAKE AIM AT 12TH NCAA REGIONAL In theirfirst seasonofBigTenConferencecompetition in

2011-12,theHuskersjustmissedanNCAARegionalberthwhilefinishing sixth at theBig TenTournament.Madeleine SheilsearnedAll-BigTenhonorswhiletyingforthirdattheBigTenChampionships. Shealsoearneda spot in theNCAACentralRegionalasanindividual.

NebraskahaditsstreakofthreeconsecutiveNCAARegionalbidsendin2008-09,buttheHuskerswillfocusonearningtheir12thregionalbidsince1994in2012-13.

NU advanced to its third consecutive regional in 2008,qualifyingastheNo.17seedintheNCAACentralRegionalinAustin,Texas.TheHuskersmissedaberthtothefourthNCAAChampionships in schoolhistoryby justone stroke,finishinginatiefor10thwithascoreof903ontheUniversityofTexasGolfCourse.

NUqualifiedforregionalsontheheelsofasolidsixth-placefinishattheBig12ChampionshipsinStillwater,Okla.Alongwiththeirstrongplayonthecourse,allfivestarters inNebraska’slineupearnedacademicAll-Big12recognition.

In2006-07,NUearneda second straightNCAARegionalbidwitha fourth-placeBig12finish.NUclaimedthreeteamtournamenttitles, ledbyAll-Big12performerElliBrown.NUalsoledtheconferencewithfiveacademicAll-Big12selections.

TheHuskersproducedoneof thebest seasons in schoolhistory in 2005-06,with a 20th-place finish at theNCAAChampionships inColumbus,Ohio.Nebraskaalsoposted itsbest-everscoreattheNCAAChampionshipsbyfiringa1,221overfourrounds,18strokesbetterthanthe1,239NUshotatthe2000NCAAChampionships.Thefinal-round299wasNU’sbestNCAAChampionshipsmarkinhistory.

The2005-06Huskersfinishedeighthat theNCAACentralRegionalafterenteringastheNo.15seedinthe21-teamfield.TheHuskersalsotiedforfourthattheBig12ChampionshipsattheCountryClubofLincoln.NUalsoproducedthebestteamstrokeaverageinschoolhistory(304.88).

StephanieRuizearnedsecond-teamAll-Big12honorsandfinishedinatiefor38thatthe2006NCAAChampionships.

In 2003, theHuskers played host to theNCAA CentralRegional,heldatLincoln'sFirethornGolfClub.Nebraskawasranked19thgoingintothetournament,butascendedtofifthplacetoqualifyfortheNCAAChampionshipsinWestLafayette,Ind.TheHuskersclosedtheseasonstrongbyfinishing22ndattheNCAAChampionships.NUfinishedwithafour-roundtotalof1,281ledbySarahSasse’s40th-placeshowing.

Krapfl,anativeofWestPoint,Neb.,hasbeenassociatedwiththeHuskerprogramsince1979whensheplayedcollegiategolf forNebraska (1979-82).A three-year letterwinner, shegraduatedfromNebraskawithabachelor'sdegreeinbusinessadministrationin1984.

KrapflwentontobecomeaPGAProfessionalatTheCountryClubofLincoln,wheresheworkedasanassistantunderheadprofessionalandformerHuskercoachJerryFisher.KrapflalsoworkedunderFisherasanassistantfortheHuskersfrom1984to1987.Asheadcoach,KrapflhasguidedtheHuskers to28tournament titles. She is only the third coach inNebraskawomen's golf history, following formermen's coach LarryRomjueandFisher.

Schuchart adds years of professional experience totheHusker staff. Schuchart is an 18-year PGAmemberwith extensiveplayingexperienceonboth thePGAandNationwidetours. Duringhistimeon theNikeTour,hewasa three-timechampion, including the 1994Nike Tour Championship.He has also played in threeU.S. Opens and four PGAChampionships.Hehas beennamed theNebraska PGAPlayerof theYear threetimesandwasamemberof theNationalPGACup in1992,which represented theUnited

Statesinternationally.HisbestshowingonthePGATourwasafifth-placefinishattheHardee’sInvitationalin1993. In2010,SchuchartwasinductedintotheNebraskaGolfHallofFame. Inadditiontoplayinggolf,SchuchartdesignedthePrairiegolfputterMS-1.Developed for fastgreens, theputter isshorterfromheeltotoeandisfacebalanced. Schuchart lettered for themen’s squad in1981,1982,1983and1985. Mikeandhiswife,Felicia,havea13-year-oldsonKeegan.SchuchartandhisfamilyresideinLincoln.

HallofFamefootballcoachTomOsbornehascontinuedtoleavea lasting impression on the history of Nebraska Athletics sincereturningtoleadtheHuskerprogramastheschool’s13thathleticdirector onOct. 16, 2007. Osborne,who led Nebraska to threenationalchampionships(1994,1995,1997)and255victoriesinhis25yearsastheHuskers’headfootballcoach,hascontinuedtousehisimpressiveleadershipskillstoguidetheNUathleticdepartmentasawholeoverthepastfourseasons.Withthecorevaluesofintegrity,trust,respect,teamworkand

loyaltyservingasguidingprinciplesforNebraska’s23-sportprogramasawhole,OsbornehasmadehistoricdecisionstohelptheUniversityofNebraskaathleticprogramsforyearstocome.In June of 2010, Osborne joined Nebraska Chancellor Harvey

Perlman and Big Ten Conference Commissioner Jim Delany toannouncetheHuskerswouldjointheBigTenbeginningonJuly1,2011.Nebraska’smovetotheBigTenwillcontinuetoaddUniversity-wideacademicopportunities,whileprovidingfinancialstabilityfortheathleticdepartmentforyearstocome.Justafewmonthslater,Osborneannouncedanaggressiveexpansion

planfortheeastsideofMemorialStadiumthatwillincreaseattendancepast 90,000 for the first time, while continuing Nebraska’s NCAArecord-settingselloutstreak.Theexpansion,whichissetforcompletionbeforethe2013football season,will includeathleticandacademicresearchcomponents.Inthespringof2010,thecityofLincolnalsoreceivedvoterapproval

tobeginconstructiononthe16,000-seatPinnacleBankArena,whichwillserveasthenewcompetitivehomeforbothNebraskamen’sandwomen’sbasketballprogramsbeginningin2013-14.The basketball programs, thewrestling program andmany of

NU’s other sports also have benefitted from the newHendricksTrainingComplexattheBobDevaneySportsCenter.Thefacility,whichopenedinOctoberof2011,includespracticeandteamareas,andgreatlyexpandedathleticmedicineandstrengthtrainingareas.The Nebraska baseball and softball programs also received

anew indoorpractice facility that opened in the fall of 2001 atHaymarketPark.ThefirststepinOsborne’saggressivebuildingplanforNebraska’s

facilitiesbeganinthesummerof2010,astheHuskersbrokegroundontheStudentLifeComplexonthewestsideofMemorialStadium.Thecomplex,whichopened in the fallof2010,directlybenefitseveryHuskerstudent-athletewithexpandedacademicresources.

WhileOsbornehashelpedinitiatelandmarkmovesoffthefield,hehascontinuedtohelpcoachesandstudent-athletes focusonNebraska’straditionofcompetitivesuccess.In2011-12,10Huskerteamsfinishedamongthetop25inthe

nation, including the Nebraska football team’s New Year’s DayappearanceintheCapitalOneBowl.OneofOsborne’sfirstmajordecisionsasathleticdirectorwasto

hireBoPeliniastheHuskers’footballcoach.Pelini,whohadspentthe2003campaignasNU’sdefensivecoordinator,hasenergizedNebraska’sstoriedtraditionwithfourconsecutivenine-winseasons.Pelini’sHuskershavefinishedamongtheAssociatedPresstop25ineachofthelastthreeseasons.ThefootballprogramalsocontributedthreeCoSIDAAcademicAll-AmericanstoNebraska’snation-leadingtotalof299all-time,acrossallsports.CoachMarkManning’sHuskerwrestlingprogramaddedapair

thesecondschoolinhistorytopostback-to-backperfectnationalchampionshipseasons(Oklahoma1955-56).Nebraskaputtogetherthebestfive-yearrunincollegefootballhistoryfrom1993to1997,going60-3withfivestraight11-winseasons.OsborneledNUto13conferencecrowns,includingsixofhislast

sevenseasonsonthesideline.All25ofhisHuskerteamswonatleastninegamesandwenttoabowl,while15won10-or-moregames.In the classroom, theNU football program totaled 65 CoSIDA

Academic All-America awards in Osborne’s 25 years. In fact, heaccumulated more football academic All-Americans in his 25yearsascoachthananyotherfootballprograminthenationhasproducedinitshistory.Prior to becoming head coach, Osborne spent five seasons

under Devaney, helping the Huskers win back-to-back nationalchampionships in 1970 and 1971. In 1973, Osborne succeededDevaney, who also served as Nebraska’s Athletic Director from1967to1993.Osborneandhiswife,Nancy,havethreeadultchildren,Mike,

AnnandSuzanneandfourgrandchildren.

AmemberoftheNebraskaAthleticDepartmentsince1979,PatLogsdonwaspromotedtoseniorwomanadministratoronMarch7,2008,inadditiontoherdutiesasassociateathleticdirectorforadministration.Shepreviouslyservedintheroleofassistantathleticdirector.

Logsdon’sdutiesincludeoversightonalladministrativeissuesandoperationalfunctionsoftheAthleticDirector’soffice;oversight intheareasofadministration,athleticmedicine,nutritionand theathletic training table, footballoperations, softball,women’sgymnasticsandrifle;developingandimplementingadministrativepoliciesandprocedures,assistingwithstrategicplanning,reviewingandmaintaininggameandcoachingcontractsandoversightoftheadministrativebudget.

Previously, Logsdonspent six seasonsasNU’sdirectorof footballoperations, thefirstfemaleinDivisionItoserveinthatcapacity.Shehandledorganizationofallrecruitingfunctions,supervised compliance activities and coordinated all football administrativeoperations,includingtravelandpracticeoperations.Logsdonservedthreeyearsasassistanttothedirectoroffootballoperationsand14seasonsasthefootballrecruitingsecretary.

Burtonisamemberoftheathleticdepartment’sexecutiveteam,whichhelpssetpolicy,develops short- and long-termgoals andobjectives, and creates strategic plans for thedepartment.Burtonalsoreviewsandmonitorscompliancewithallcontractsfortheathleticdepartment.

BurtonfilledasimilarpositionatOklahomaStateastheassistantathleticdirectorforsportsadministrationandcompliancefrom1993to1997.HeoversawOSU’sOlympicsportsprogramsaswellasthetrainingandstrengthandconditioning,wrestling,men’sandwomen’strackandfieldandmen’sandwomen’stennisprograms.

Boehmoverseestheeffortsofseveralareaswithinathletics,includingmarketing,mediarelations,HuskerVision,facilitiesandevents.BoehmalsooverseestheNebraskamen’sandwomen’sbasketballprogramsandtheHuskersoccerprogram.Healsoplayedamajorroleintheathleticdepartment’snegotiationsforitscontractextensionwithIMGCollegeSports.Todate,itisthelargestmulti-mediarightscontractincollegeathletics.

AstheprimaryadministratorfortheNUbasketballprograms,BoehmplayedanintegralroleinthehiringofTimMilesastheHuskers’newcoachinMarchof2012.

Boehmhasworked to createa fan-friendly atmosphereat theBobDevaney SportsCenter,whichhashelpedNebraskatorecord-settingattendanceforwomen’sbasketballattheDevaneyCenter.

UnderBoehm’ssupervision,CoachConnieYori’swomen’sbasketballteamenjoyedthebestseasoninschoolhistoryin2009-10.TheHuskersmadetheirseventhstraightpostseasontrip,advancingtotheschool’sfirstNCAASweet16.Yoricaptured2010NationalCoach-of-the-Yearhonorsby leadingtheHuskers toaBig12record-tying30-gamewinningstreakandthe2010Big12regular-seasontitle.NUrankedinthetop10inthefinalnationalpollsandseventhnationallyinhomeattendancewith7,390fanspergame.Inconferenceplay,NUledtheleaguewith11,383fanspergame.TheHuskerwomenaddedtheirfourthNCAATournamenttripinthepastsixseasonsin2012,afterrunningtoarunner-upfinishattheirinauguralBigTenTournament.

ThemenhaveaddedfourpostseasontripsduringBoehm’stenure, includingatriptothe2011PostseasonNIT.

BoehmhasalsoplayedanintegralroleintheplanningofNebraska’snewPinnacleBankArenaformen’sandwomen’sbasketball,whichisscheduledtoopenforthe2013-14season.HealsoworkedtohelpdevelopNebraska’snewpracticefacility - theHendricksTrainingComplex-whichopenedattheBobDevaneySportsCenterinOctoberof2011.

Boehmhas alsoplayedapart inhelping theNebraskaathleticdepartmentmakeafunctionaltransitiontotheBigTenConferencein2011-12.

BoehmwasinstrumentalinconceptualizinganddevelopingtheHuskerNationPavilion,whichquicklybecamethepremierpregameeventaroundhomefootballgames.

BoehmalsotooktheleadroleinobtainingFirstNationalBankandAmeritasaspremiersponsorsfortheNebraskaAthleticDepartmentforacombineddealworthmorethan$7millionoverathree-yearperiod.FirstNationalBankandAmeritasjoinedVerizon,PepsiandadidasaspremiercorporatesponsorsforHuskerathletics.

BoehmheldthesamepositionatPittsburghfrom1997to2003.BoehmassistedintheriseofthePanthers’basketballprogramwiththemen’steampostingback-to-backSweet16appearancesintheNCAATournament.DuringconstructionofthePanthers’newathleticfacilities,BoehmplayedacentralroleinPitt’sathleticteamsmovingtotheUPMCSportsPerformanceComplex,HeinzFieldandthePetersenEventsCenter.

Boehmservedas interimathleticdirectoratPittsburghfornearlyfivemonthsbeforecoming toNebraska.During thattime,hehirednewmen’s (JamieDixon)andwomen’sbasketball (AgnusBerenato) and soccer (Sue-MoyChin)head coaches for thePantherprogram.

BoehmalsospentfiveyearsasassociateexecutivedirectoroftheTostitosFiestaBowl.Hedirectedandmanageda125-memberfund-raisingcommitteeofArizonabusinesspeopleresponsibleforgeneratingmorethan$4.5millionincashandin-kindpartnerships.PreviouslyhespentfouryearsasassociateexecutivedirectorandpublicrelationsdirectoroftheSunBowlfrom1987to1991.
