The consequence of deconsolidationof roads administration in Poland
is polish road marking system which is not uniform as it depends on individual Road
Administrator.

New roads(just constructed roads and theroads after renovation of thesurface):- full marking range:edge line and centre line (separatingstreams of traffic flow).

- edge line (not on the all length)renovated in 20-80%, depending on the region

On the 13,24% of road system in Poland road marking is obligatory.
On the 86,76% of road system inPoland road marking is not obligatory.
The range of road markingshould depend neither on the road type nor on theAdministrator but exclusively on the roadwidth.

Temporary road marking: obligatory marking for roadworks areas –Investmentboom in Poland.
TEMPORARYROAD MARKING
Generally the temporary roadmarking is not applied, only insome cases temporaryroadmarking yellow tape is used.
The roads on which road works are heldand the traffic is allowed stays publicroads. Due to this fact road marking on such road is obligatory.
The areas of road works are particularydanger areas and due to this fact shouldbe marked with the particular care.

Polish regulations providedifferent road markingparameters (retroreflectivity) for different lifetimes (differentperiods after application)

T raffic regulations are the same for all typesof roads and the state of using different roadmarking for different road typesdoes not make any sense
The local road can’t be less safe than the transitone so it should be marked according to thesame rules.
Drivers can expect the same efficient markingon each type of road.

The roads on which the road works areheld and the traffic is allowed, stay
public roads. Due to this fact the roadmarking on such roads is obligatory.
The areas of road works are particularydanger and regarding this fact shouldbe marked with particular care.

After warranty period road markingshould be completly renewed.
The alternative solution – long-termmaintenance contractsfor road marking.
