1 Introduction
Pilot Navigator is a versatile post-processing solution that analyzes, calculates and
illustrates key metrics of various RF network benchmarking scenarios, through standard
or tailored reporting that may be graphical, numerical or geographical (GIS). It features a
robust statistical engine, an intuitive user interface and compatible with variety of data
sources (terminal, scanner or probe) and all major 2G/3G/LTE technologies.
Navigator offers unparalleled event analysis for troubleshooting dropped calls,
blocked calls, high error rates and low throughput. It present network status of any
measured test area and pinpoint hotspots related to interference, field strength and voice
quality.
Navigator analyzes and generates reports for Pilot Pollution, GPRS coverage, C/I
data, neighbor cell interference, regional statistics and call events (normal & abnormal),
which can be pinpoint and overlaid onto a compatible map as needed.
Navigator bins measurements by grid, distance and time and computes statistics for
the same.* It processes and displays multiple data streams for multiple network
technology, making it suitable for long-term coverage and speech quality comparison
between different operators and/or technologies.
Navigator seamlessly interacts with DingLi's Pilot line of wireless network diagnostic
products, which includes the Pioneer drive-test system, Fleet autonomous network
measurement system, Walktour handheld testing tool and the Scout autonomous network
probe.
2 New Features & Applications
2.1 New Features
2.1.1 Scanner overlay analysis
Navigator supports overlay analysis of multi-network scanner data with site database.
Statistical result can be displayed on geographical background in view window, and be
exported as a report.
2.1.2 Change time scale
Navigator allows changing the time scale in the graph window. This would show all
data for the loaded file in one graph without scrolling.
2.1.3 Cell Over-coverage analysis (Boomer site)
Boomer cells can be considered as cells that are serving beyond their intended area
of coverage. Navigator supports analysis of test data with site database. Cell
over-coverage analysis is carried out in two ways: sector angle range-based, and
penetration level&distance-based. Statistical result can be displayed on geographical view
window, and can be exported as a report.
2.1.4 Overlapping coverage analysis
Navigator computes KPI under the situation where a site is overlapped by multiple
cells. Currently, it supports TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE technology. Statistical result can be
displayed on geographical view window, and can be exported as a report.
2.1.5 High site analysis
Navigator analyzes the effects of cell sites located at high altitude towards network
quality. It supports TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE technologies. Statistical result can be
displayed on geographical view window, and can be exported as a report.
2.2 New Applications
2.2.1 LTE-3G interoperability statistics
Navigator supports statistics of LTE and 3G interoperating details. "LTE-TDSCDMA
handoverdetails" and "LTE-WCDMA handover details” tables are added into data services
report, generating statistics such as3G-4G interoperating delay, cell changes and signal
strength.
2.2.2 Speed test statistics
Speed Test Report is added as a new report type, providing statistics such as upload
and download speeds, Ping delay, and service events.
2.2.3 Support iBwave indoor map format
2.2.4 GSM handover statistics
Navigator supports GSM handover statistics. "GSM handover details” table is added
into voice service report, offering statistics such as cell change, signal strength before and
after the handover, etc.
2.2.5 Video Play analysis & statistics
Video Play report is added as a new report type, offering the statistics such as Video
Play success ratio, mean rate, buffer count, buffer time.
2.2.6 Scanner statistics by cell report
Besides LTE, Navigator supports all other networks.
2.2.7 LTE Report
LTE Reportpresentsstatisticalevents and KPIs from theLTE network. It includes
following tables: Attach+RRC delay report, cmcc detail, TM&Rank, FTP report, handover
new,MCS statistics,Paging report, Ping details, edge details, multi-user connectionsetup
success ratio,cell reselection, handover success, 3.1 network downlink performance
assessment, 3.1 network uplink performance assessment, mean cell throughput, RS
Boosting RRU,RS Boosting cell throughput, single-user throughput, RRU, Adjacent
channel crossed-slot interference, network coverage census, upstream IOT raise-up
range,outdoor coverage indoors–penetration loss, downstream IOT raise-up
range,inter-cell interference suppression.
2.2.8 D/E/F-band interference report
The series of reports are generated forinterference test on LTE bands. It Includes:

2.3 New device
2.3.1 iPhone4s supported in data decoding&statistics
Navigator supports analysis and statistics of iPhone4S test data. iPhone4S can be
used as Pioneer terminal or as Walktour device.
2.3.2 Pctel CX Scanner supported
Navigator supports decoding of PCTel CX scanner data.
2.3.3 LTE terminal (HiSilicon MIFI, LC5160T, Huawei E392) supported in
data decoding &statistics
3 User Interface
3.1 Pilot pollution analyzer optimized
"Only Scanner" check box is added onto pilot pollution analysis interface. By
checking “Only Scanner”, Navigator conducts pilot pollution analysis to Scanner
data only.
Afternetwork analysis, parameters trackwill be displayed. See interface below
(here using WCDMAnetwork as example)

Two functional buttons are added:
Edit neighbor cell
Select a data file in the map window, and all windows will be
synchronized in updating
Optimize By Cell
Click the map shortcut key "Map Option". In Map Option window, check “By Cell” and
make detailed settings in “Server/neighbor cell” column:
3.4 Parameter comparative analysis window
Once parameter comparative analysis is completed, right-click inside the window to
activate a menu, where user can select multiple parameters. This will display details of
selected comparative parameters.
3.5 Bin Analysis
Add “Filter By Regions”
Add “Advance” button. Click it to set bin analysis conditions.

4.2 Known Bugs (V6.0.0.0)
For “Filter by region” function, Bin analysis supports “by grid” way only, while “by
time” or “by distance” way is not supported.
Parameters under Parameters->Data are displayed incompletely in map window.
The bug fix is deferred.
