What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and

why?

Bauer Media Group• It is Europe’s largest privately owned publishing group. The group is a worldwide

media empire offering over 300 magazines in 15 countries, as well as online, TV and radio stations.

• Recently in the past, Bauer have seen incomes of £1.49 billion pounds which shows that the company is a successful business and will create profits from selling “Strings”

• Bauer Media Group sell 38 million copies of their magazines a week which shows they know how to advertise and promote the magazines so the target audience wants to buy them

Bauer Media Group• “Strings” would be distributed by Bauer Media Group, this is because “Strings” is a

indie music magazine and Bauer Media Group distribute many different music magazines which are mainstream so “Strings” should fit right in and become a mainstream magazine and well known to the public.

• “Strings” is suitable for Bauer Media Group because it is a unique magazine so it will sell well as it has no competition and will make a lot of money for the company

• “Strings” would also be suitable because Bauer Media Group distribute music magazines similar to “Strings” which are mainstream and best selling magazines

Advertising• Inside “Strings”, there are adverts for music stores such as

Wunjo Guitars London (http://www.wunjoguitars.com/), this is a good advertisement because the genre of indie features many forms of guitars are used such as electric, acoustic and bass. This would be appropriate because many people from the target audience would be interested in guitars.

• Also “Strings” will advertise up and coming gigs and tours of well know artists and bands, such as Tokyo Police Club’s latest tour across different states of Northern America.

Online• “Strings” will have an online presence because in this time of age, technology has

developed and has slowly taken over as the media industry as people find it easier to go on the internet to look at magazines, articles etc. instead of walking to the local shop to get a newspaper or magazine.

• “Strings” can be found at www.stringsmag.co.uk, the website will feature up to date news about popular artists and bands and also new and undiscovered artists and bands. The website will also feature popular articles from recent issues for readers to recap on

“Strings” Magazine Application• The application will be available from either the iTunes store or the android store

for PC, Mac, iPod or Smartphone• The application will be a digital version of the magazine where you can read the

magazine but its on a screen instead of paper• The cost of this will be £3.59 the same as the magazine but will also need to pay a

one of price of 85p to download the needed software for this app
