EMPATHY AND DEFINE

About Person #1

•  Studied Biotechnology •  He worked in different laboratories

during his degree •  He’s studying for a master’s degree •  Smart, responsible, creative, great at

cooking

The problem or need is to know what Person #1 think about the school-to-work

transition

What do you think about it?

•  I consider it’s difficult, because after school you have lots of knowledge in your hands, but it’s a small amount you apply at work, and it can be frustrating. Also I consider that when you’ve been accepted to a job, you enter to a competitive world, due to the fact that you have to keep your job. But I also think that this helps you strenghten your character and you become more responsible.

What difficulties do you see in this school-to-work transition?

•  Lots of knowledge learned and you apply a little bit of it, this can cause frustration

•  Competition •  Stressing environment in the moment you

know you have to keep your job before someone hires another person rather than you

•  Deal with demanding boss •  Close-minded work team •  Proyects you don’t like

Empathy Diagram

Say •  “Demanding boss” •  “It’s a small amount of

knowledge you apply, and it can be frustrating”

•  “Competitive world” •  “Productive” •  “Strenghten character” •  “Stressing Environment” •  “Closed Minded

Coworkers”

Do •  Do a better job, in an

efficient manner, trying to contribute in what’s requested

•  Always being critical with one’s job and also others in a good way.

•  Accept reviews form others

•  Being cordial •  If people ask for help, I’ll

be there for them. •  Do the best

Empathy Diagram

Think •  Lots of competition, stress

and frustration •  Positive aspects of working:

tolerance and apprenticeship

•  Frustration in self-confidence •  You become a productive

person. •  Help others always •  Do the best even though he

doesn’t know about the task

•  Always read and learn

Feel •  Frustrated when

thinking about the little amount of knowledge you apply in work.

•  Positive aspects of working make you more mature.

•  Maturation at work •  Perseverant

Statement

•  The student of Biotechnology and with a master’s degree in process, needs a way to work under a frustrating, stressing and competitive environment and day to day apprenticeship because this will help him to mature in a personal and professional level.

TESTING FEAT. STAKEHOLDER :)

FEELINGS, IMPROVEMENTS AND MANY THINGS

FEELINGS

•  “In general the ideas are good” •  “The way you expose the problem is

fine because you see it in a simple way and with few words”

•  “It seems to me that your favorite idea was well developed and dynamic and it really make people like it and it’s possible to apply it at work”

FEELINGS

•  “The ideas’ development you took at the end it was cool, and it looks great, you show the ease to bring your ideas to the company/work. You don’t need a lot of money to make it true, indeed it’s a little bit more intelectual.”

BENEFITS TO STAKEHOLDER AND CHANGES

•  “Maybe i’ll take both ideas and combine them, because each one has an important point/strenght. Some ideas may be disliked by others, and other ideas may be liked by them, that’s why I would love a fusion/merge/combination.”

DISLIKES and IMPROVEMENTS

•  “I’ll put a little more of color to the prototype, to gain attention”

•  “Combination of Ideas”

REFLECTIONS

REFLECTION

•  I think I could make a better work with the ideas, bring to life the best of both worlds. Investigate the benefits and what could change in the people in a positive way.

•  The stakeholder make a good point on taking the strenghts of both and make an innovative and better idea.

REFLECTION

•  This proyect made me think better in the stakeholder, to be in charge of his needs and interests, of his frustrations and what made him feel stressed.

TESTING PROTOTYPES REFLECTION

•  I’ve learned a lot of the stakeholder’s opinion, I love to work with HIM, really with him and not only interviewing him with “already made up” questions. I love how he made me think of the possibility to combine my ideas and make a better one.

WHAT’S NEXT

•  I will make a better prototype using more color, combination of ideas and a better way to convince a certain company.

•  Also I will bring my ideas to life by printing the invitations or any other stuff I need.

THANK YOU STANFORD AND THANK YOU CLASSMATES :)
