Health is the general condition of a person in all aspects. It is also a

level of functional and/or metabolic efficiency of an organism, often

implicitly human.

Sanitation is the hygienic means of promoting health through prevention of human contact with the hazards of wastes. Hazards can be either physical, microbiological, biological or chemical agents of disease. Wastes that can cause health problems are human and animal feces, solid wastes, domestic wastewater (sewage), industrial wastes, and agricultural wastes. Hygienic means of prevention can be by using engineering solutions (e.g. sewerage), simple technologies (e.g. latrines, septic tanks), or even by personal hygiene practices (e.g. simple hand washing with soap).

“THE IMPORTANCE OF HEALTH SANITATION”

-For public health reasons health and sanitation focus on management of human

excreta and the prevention of diseases.-this is also a synthetic review of impact

evaluations examining effectiveness of water, sanitation and hygiene interventions

in reducing childhood diarrhea.

What is a TOILET?

A toilet is a plumbing fixture primarily intended for the disposal of human excreta: urine and fecal matter. Additionally, vomit and menstrual waste are sometimes disposed of in toilets in Western societies.

PRIVATE TOILETS-The Private Toilets refer to toilets that are

constructed for the exclusive use of the owner only.

COMMUNAL TOILETS-An old (but still used elsewhere) term for

public rest room, washroom, bathroom.

NO TOILET-no toilets at all.

causing diseases.Learn how to clean your toilet , for

instance, clean the bowl includes the interior.

Improper use of toilet

How do we relate this in

our community through

conducting a survey?

“OUR SURVEY”

As we conducted our survey , we saw and

observe different types of toilets (Private toilet,

Communal Toilet or Public Toilet and No toilet) .

No Toilet

Through conducting a survey in Sitio Proper, it would be easier for us to know the health and sanitations that is happening in our community, specifically, in toilets.

We choose to have a project based learning about toilets because we can relate this in our community. As we see, toilets our very important especially in communities because we can observe proper health sanitations and hygiene's.

This is for our own protection ,too. Also, To avoid diseases that can lead to death. Let must protect humankind.

“Recommendation”

What do you want your community especially your

Barangay Officials to do?

As a student ,we want our community to be aware of all of these things. We want to observe the importance of proper health sanitation in every barangay. We also want to keep the community clean to avoid smell disturbances that are bad and lead different hazards in our health.

To our Barangay Officials , as you see in our public awareness campaign, the problem about no toilets only brought a danger in our community. Let us say for instance, after excreting human waste such as urine and feces, do people wash their hands? Out of 10 people I can say that only 4 of them wash their hands and observe proper health sanitation. Why? Because as we conducted our survey in Sitio Proper , 60 percent have no toilets, meaning, these people were usually doing an improper action. They may bring bacteria causing germs that may result cholera.

The community and the people are the government’s obligations! We want to prevent the diseases came from bacteria's.

We want the Barangay Officials to give a budget for making a communal toilets at least 5 per sitio.

How can each one of you contribute to health and sanitation in your community?

Of course, as a selected student, we will serve as a guide to other

people and to our fellow students.

We will make an action about other problems in communities involving health and sanitation. We will show to the people that we appreciate the importance of

proper health sanitation.

We Need to Fight Diseases &

Protect Humankind !!!
