Project Name: Whitehall Bay House Location: Annapolis, Maryland Category: ResidenceDescription: This shingle style home sits on a high bank overlooking historic Whitehall Bay in Annapolis, Maryland. The design utilizes
traditional forms to maximize natural daylighting and ventilation. Traditional materials including cedar shingles and locally sourced stone are detailed to best weather the elements of a site that faces open water. The floor plan was elongated along the waterfront setback
with a one-room deep enfilade layout giving all rooms a view of the water and daylong sunlight. The Living Room and Master Suite are perched on a southwest facing knoll with the best views of the Bay. Both rooms open onto wrap-around porches and are topped by an octagonal turret. A trellis, pergola and deep roof-overhangs give added sun-shading along the south side. Screened porches offer year-
round outdoor living with a stone fireplace on the ground floor porch and a sleeping porch on the second floor.
