CPM Redesigned the Graduate Student Lounge in Fulton Hall for GCSOM, rooms 124, 124A & B to be more functional and aesthetically pleasing. Included in the renovation was the addition of one private meeting space with access or the main corridor, an enlarged Kitchen space with full size refrigerator and microwave. We also opened up the general space to make it more conducive to socializing and or quiet study area with a large monitor on the wall. To accomplish this we introduced smaller square tables with four chairs for each with no arms that would be extremely flexible to reconfigure, we purposely eliminated sofas and soft seating to encourage integration. We also designed a more applicable storage closet for their variety of needs.

The Biology Department submitted A&R 2733112 for new Biology faculty hire, Dr. Tim van Opijnen. The scope of work to accommodate Professor van Opijnen is for the accommodation of a new chemical storage room replacing an existing dark room, and removal of a sink in Lab 400. Associated with this A&R is also the elimination of the wall between labs 400 and 410, creating one large sized lab to which individual bench space can be assigned to a PI, consistent with one of the goals identified in the Master Plan. Work will also include providing a new lab bench and other changes needed as a result of eliminating the wall between the two labs. Work in Bio-informatics space 420 is limited to adding a door with a sidelight, and providing new open shelving in lieu of cabinets.

We relocated computers to new report room 106 which formally housed the lockers for security staff of which we relocated the lockers to the locker rooms 126B and 130A. We extended the report room 106 by opening up existing corridor wall and adding a door to the back corridor and putting one way glass on the door from the kitchen, gaining needed space.
