This is a ferry arriving in the small port of Rosslare, Ireland, from

Fishguard in Wales.

Rosslare means: “The middle peninsula” in Irish and it’s a village in

a county of Wexford.

It takes around four hours to sail from Wales but boats also arrive

here from France.

This is the east coast of Ireland as you can see there isn’t much

industry here. The west coast of Ireland is quite famous for its

beautiful coastline but the eastern side is also very attractive with

large green fields and vary landscapes, ranging from mountains to

beaches.

Cemeteries in Britain and Ireland are very different to the ones you

usually find in Italy. They are often big open spaces surrounded by

fields and have typical Celtic crosses. Some of the graves here are

hundreds of years old.

Ireland consists of four provinces: Ulster in the North, Munster in

the South, Connacht in the West and Leinster in the East.

In Leinster, county Wexford, in the South-East, is well known for its temperature and sunny climate. This makes it an ideal location to relax on the beaches and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the coastline.

Ireland’s capital, Dublin, is also in the province Leinster. It is located on the Irish Sea and

has a population just over half a million.

This is Samuel Beckett bridge designed by Calatrava.

The Liffey bridge is a pedestrian bridge over the river Liffey and it was built in 1860.

It's sometimes referred to as the “8 penny bridge”, which is what people had to pay to

cross it, originally.

Dublin has an unusual form of street market, it consists of people selling fruit and other

products from children's prams. They are known as the working prams of Dublin.

This is Saint Patrick's cathedral, the largest church in Ireland. The building dates from

1220 and it is considered to be the earliest christian site in Ireland.

It is actually a protestant church in what is a mainly Catholic country.

This monument was built in O’Connell street in January 2003. It is about 120 meters high

and it is made of steel.

It is officially called “the monument of light” but it’s more commonly known as The

Spire of Dublin.

O’Connell street is Ireland’s busiest shopping street. Also on O’Connell street is this

statue of Daniel O’Connell. He was an Irish political leader who campaigned for

catholic emancipation.

This is a statue of Molly Malone in Grafton street.

Grafton street is a busy shopping area in Dublin city centre. It gets really busy at

weekends.

The Brazen Head is Ireland's oldest pub. It’s worth a visit for both its historical value

and also for the good music you can hear on most nights.

It is a typical Irish pub with a comfortable atmosphere and good beer and it's very

close to the famous Guinness brewery known as the Saint James gate brewery.

The black beer you can see is known as stout and the Guinness brand is probably the most popular and famous beer in Ireland but it is also drunk all over the world.
