A prepositional phrase consists of a preposition, a noun or pronoun called the object of the preposition, and possibly words that modify the object of the preposition.

Prepositional Phrases as Adjectives

When a prepositional phrase functions like an adjective, it is called an adjective phrase.

When a prepositional phrase functions like an adjective, it is called an adjective phrase. Adjectives nearly always come right before the noun they modify, but adjective phrases nearly always come after.
