The MAX1702B is the smallest, most efficient power-management IC optimized for the IntelPXA210 and PXA250 microprocessors for PDAs, 3G smart phones, and hand-held products. TheMAX1702B features three high-efficiency (>90%) PWM, 1MHz step-down converters with synchronousrectification. The converters use small external components and eliminate the need for externaldiodes, saving cost and size. The MAX1702B fits in a 1mm high, 6mm x 6mm QFN package.Management functions include automatic power-up sequencing, power-on reset (POR), manual reset,output regulation monitor, and two levels of low-battery detection.

Use the MAX1800 step-up master or the MAX1802 step-down master to provide all the voltageoutputs required in your digital camera and PDA designs from a single IC. These outputs includehigh-efficiency DC-DC converters with synchronous rectifiers to give over 90% efficient power conver-sion for the logic supply, which uses >50% of the power in a camera system. These devices come in asmall 32-pin 5mm x 5mm TQFP, which is 40% smaller than existing TQFP solutions. TheMAX1800/MAX1802 also eliminate external components such as power diodes, power switches, andat least one transformer to save cost and size. For flexibility, add the low-cost, 8-pin SOT23 MAX1801slave controller to create optional features like a motor control supply for zooming and focusing. TheMAX1800/MAX1802 can provide all the voltages for logic, core, backlighting, LCD, and expansionport of PDAs.

The MAX1922 high-side MOSFET current-limited, 70m power switch has built-in fault blanking.An accurate preset 1.4A to 2.1A current limit better protects power distribution systems in USB,PCMCIA cards, and other hot-swap plug-in applications. The MAX1922 prevents a systems powersupply from crashing due to an overcurrent (OC) or short-circuit condition at the switchs output. TheMAX1922 input voltage ranges from 2.7V to 5.5V, making it ideal for both 3V and 5V systems.

The MAX1946 single current-limited switch comes in a tiny 3mm x 3mm QFN package withautoreset and fault blanking for USB applications. Input voltage ranges from 2.7V to 5.5V, making itideal for both 3V and 5V systems. Built-in thermal-overload protection and internal current-limitingcircuitry protect the input supply against both overload and short-circuit conditions.
