UNICEF, World Health Organization (WHO).
Measles
• A million deaths per year• Do not usually die directly of measles, but
from its complications• Preventable through vaccines• Less than $1 per vaccination can save lives
UNICEF, World Health Organization (WHO).
Tuberculosis
• Kills well over 1.5 million people each year• Highly contagious – one person can infect 15 • Children can be vaccinated, adults cannot• Long antibiotic treatment needed
Diarrhea

• Result of unclean water• Malnutrition causes death• Treatable with a mixture of water, salt, and
sugar that replenishes the lost fluids
