• Funding ends and FWNSWML takes over HOK as part of Rural Primary Health Service (RPHS)

2013 - Including Preschools

• Collarenebri, Lightning Ridge, Walgett Central, Weilmoringle gardens are built

• Gardens built at Collarenebri Preschool

• In developing and maintaining edible gardens, communities in far west NSW have access to healthy food options and a variety of promotional activities.

• Using the South Australian Government Program Vegie Fun for Everyone • introduce vegetable awareness in Preschools.

• 6 week program for 4 -5 years olds to learn about vegetables

• Burren Junction and St Joseph's Gardens completed.

• FWNSWML assisted Little Diggers Preschool for a FRRR Grant application. Results one garden complete with water tank.

• 15 gardens built in 4 years. Distance between gardens is 500kms!

• 2014 に 1628 children have participated in the program

• Pre questionnaire on fruit and vegetable intake completed in Term 1

• Post questionnaire results will be available after Term4

• Qualitative data • 90% of children in the class have tried the meals prepared • さI ノラ┗W デエWゲW ヮWラヮノWざ さI ノラ┗W ┗WェWデ;HノWゲざ • Ownership over the gardens, looking great compared to first term • Kids trying new vegetables • Asking more questions, more engaged • Kids who previously were not trying foods are trying • Shock horrors on their face when they learn about the sugar and fat content of different

Future 2015 and beyond

• More gardens に Louth Primary, Wanaaring Primary and the Preschools/ daycare centers

• More education days at the schools

• A School newsletter with Healthy competition in regards to garden and canteen challenges

• Development of the HOK School Working Party to work together on funding for garden maintenance and expansion • Walgett Central School, Goodooga and Burren Junction all need shade sails

structures installed. • Burren Junction requires benches and a kitchen sink/ bench combo.

• Waiting on Funding application results for Market Gardens in each community to ensure sustainability of fruit and vegetable supply .
