Adventure starts here!Our exciting activity day and week options runthroughout the Easter holiday period. We haveactivities to suit everyone with a flexible programmeto ensure you don’t miss out on the action.
Some of our activities take place away from theFalkirk area taking in some spectacular scenery inchallenging adventurous surroundings, whilst manyare delivered locally to minimise your time spenttravelling and maximise your time out on activity.
Our team of instructors are valued for their peopleskills as much as their technical abilities, ensuringyour time is action packed, fun, safe and enjoyable.
This Easter we will once again be offering a childcareelement to the service at both centres by opening ourdoors at 08.30 in the morning and remaining openuntil 17.30 after the activity has ended. During non-activity time participants will be closely supervisedat the centre.
Our activities all begin at 09.00 and end at 16.30. Thisyear all our activities will take place outdoors(weather dependent) including our Adventure Weekat Action Outdoors, where we will take the groupaway from the Centre on alternate days to venuessuch as Loch Ard in the Trossachs and St Andrews inFife. Our adventure week will include a mixture ofdry and wet activities to suit all (see our sampleprogramme for an idea of what’s planned).

Please Note:
• Bookings must be made on ourapplication form which can bedownloaded from our web pagehttp://www.falkirkcommunitytrust.org/outdoors/ with allsections completed andreturned to the OutdoorActivities Base at VictoriaBuildings. Please do not sendpayments to any of the othervenues
• We only take bookings onreceipt of payment, we cannotaccept provisional bookingsover the phone
• Confirmation of booking will besent to your address, you willonly hear further from us if yourcourse has to be altered.
• We require an original medicalform at the centre before theactivity takes place. Pleaseensure this is sent in to VictoriaBuildings prior to the activitydate.

Activity LevelsOur Activity courses are graded soeveryone can get the mostenjoyment out of their day. Pleasetry to avoid booking onto a courseabove the participant’s abilitylevel.

Beginner To Level 3B - No experience 1 - One or two previousexperiences2 - Good Knowledge 3 – Intermediate

Our Activities:Canoe TripBig boats equal big fun. Come and try it outor, if you’ve been in one before, improve yourskills on one of our local lochs. You mighteven visit a cave, an island or a ruined castle.
KayakingYou may get wet, you will pick up skills andyou will have a whole lot of fun. Our lochbased kayaking courses are a great way toexplore some stunning areas.
White Water RaftingUp to eight people in a raft for some seriousfun down one of Scotland’s classic rivers.Getting wet is guaranteed along with the fun.Open to all abilities with a sense of adventure.
Rock climbing / AbseilingRock climbing at a local crag or if the weatherisn’t good we will go indoor climbing. We cantake anyone from absolute beginners tobudding mountaineers. How high can youclimb? How hard a route can you do? How bigan abseil can you manage? Find out thisEaster.
BlokartingRacing along, powered by the wind, inchesabove the ground – this is a fantasticexperience. We really need the wind for thisactivity to run so if it’s a calm day we will doanother activity instead.
Mountain BikingMountain Biking on single track terrain. ThisEaster the course will be aimed at beginners,offering the perfect chance to practice yourskills.
BushcraftLearn a bit about surviving in the woods,build shelters, light a fire and get involved in awhole lot of fun! Based in MuiravonsideCountry Park this course will appeal toanyone who just loves being out of doors.

Bike the Helix We will also be running bike-basedactivities from Central Park. Our“Bike the Helix” sessions will offertours all around the Helix pathnetwork. These half day sessions willhelp you explore the Hub andgreater Helix area so you can see foryourself all the excitingopportunities this new venue willprovide.

THE HELIXThis Easter our Outdoors Team willbe delivering a whole host ofexciting, activities from The Helix.We are looking forward to addingthe Helix, Central Park facilities toour list of great places to live andlearn outdoors and to being anintegral part of the Helix story.
At the Helix we will be offering arange of activities for young peopleand families to try. All our activitiesare instructor lead and will involvetime coaching during the sessions.
Learn2 – Canoe
Introductory 1 ½ hour session in our open canoes for beginners. No experience required – learnhow to control the boat and howteamwork makes life easier.
Learn2 – Kayak
Introductory 1 ½ hour session inour kayaks for beginners. Noexperience required – learn theskills needed to have fun on thewater.
PaddlepowerIf you want to improve your skills we will be running our“Paddlepower Awards”, practicallessons where progress is assessedand certificated. This course runsto Scottish Canoe Associationstandards.
The five Paddlepower Awards are:Start, Passport, Discover, Explore & Excel
Each award builds on the last tohelp the paddler become moreconfident and skilled on the water.
