Face to Face or Synchronous Virtual
• There is not DDSB@Home next year.• Sinclair is offering Face to Face and
Synchronous Virtual learning options.• Students MUST select ALL of their choice
as either Face to Face or Synchronous Virtual (NO mixing)
Note: Asynchronous eLearning options are available for both learning options.
Course Delivery OptionsWho teaches? How is the class taught?
Face to Face Taught by Sinclair teachers Physically at Sinclair for 75 minutes per class per day
Synchronous Virtual(Formally DDSB@Home)
Taught by Sinclair teachers Online with the teacher for 75 minutes per class per day. These classes are fully separate from Face to Face classes.
Asynchronous eLearning(DDSB/OELC)
Taught by DDSB teachers and potentially a teacher from another school board that is part of the Ontario eLearning Consortium.
Students schedule their own time over the semester. Students are expected to work on their course for a minimum of 8 hours per week.
Course Listings!!!
These are found in the Course Selection Direction Handouts
DDSB/OELC eLearning• Must be a Self Directed Learner• Select these courses in myBlueprint under
the Asynchronous eLearning Discipline.• Students select the STUDYE placeholder
and then you select your chosen course
Course Descriptions
• myBlueprint does not have an external course guide. Descriptions are found while entering your courses into planner.
• You can filter by Grade and Discipline and search by key-words as well.
Study/Spare Codes• You must have completed 24 credits to be eligible
for a Study Period. STUDY1 – study in semester 1STUDY2 – study in semester 2STUDY – study will be scheduled in either
semester 1 or 2.
• We recommend that eligible students only select 1 STUDY period. This is because many students change their mind and try to add a class later but find the availability is limited. By selecting 7 classes now students will not have that issue and can always ask for a second STUDY once they have received their timetable in August.
• If students select 2 STUDY periods then the mustselect STUDY1 and STUDY2.
Course Codes and Recommendations
• Understand the expectations of the different level. HHS4C1 vs HHS4U1
• Talk to teachers about the Math and Science recommendations.
• Read course infofor IMPORTANT recommendations. ie. SBI4U1
