Why did we get an online system?

• Competition– Survey of 91 of the UK Higher Education

institutions in 2007, indicated that 64% intended to develop an online system and 15% already had an online system.

– Recruitment team’s own survey in 2007 of 25 of the School’s main competitors concluded that out of the 43% that don’t have an online recruitment system at present, 86% are planning to introduce one.

• Ability to recruit more from the global market • Modernisation of the School’s brand image • Reduction of the time to hire• Better management of information

Testing Phase

• Started at the end of Lent Term 2009

• User Committee

• Changes sent to WCN for action

Current Phase: Pilot Phase

• Started in July 2009• Total number of vacancies so far 28 (5

academic and 23 academic support)• 1447 applications received

Feedback Issued

• Survey issued for 17 vacancies• Survey went to candidates and recruiting

managers.

• Candidates feedback on the ‘application form’: 29%(413 candidates) said that the system was ‘excellent’ and 44% (641 candidates) said that the system was ‘good’.
