Brief Description of the Event:

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ or ‘Clean India Mission’ is an initiative led by the Government of

India to make India a clean India. So in association with the ministry of Youth affairs and

Sports, Swachh bharat Summer Internship 2.0 is launched which aims to engage youth across the

country and develop their skill and orientation for solid waste management (SWM) especially

Plastics.

So as a part of this Swachh bharat Summer Internship, 40 NSS volunteers of Noble group of

institutions along with NSS Program Officer Aakash Poojari organized Cleanliness drive on 13th

July at Chanaka village near Bhesan in Junagadh district. All volunteers were gathered in the

college campus at 9 am and instructions were given to them by the programme officer. We went

to chanaka village through college bus. We reached the village at 10 am.

Firstly we met the sarpanch of the village and gathered information about the village. Then we

told him about our aim and purpose of our visit to chanaka village. We started our work by

organizing awareness campaign at the high school of chanaka where our volunteers gave speech

on importance of cleanliness to the students of Chanaka high school. After that the volunteers

carried out cleanliness related activities like Cleaning streets and main places of villages.

Volunteers collected all the solid wastes especially plastics from the village and also conducted a

Rally for increasing awareness about Tree plantation, cleanliness and plastic waste management.
