On this second Sunday of LentJesus takes us away to pray,

as he did with his disciples on the mountain.Let his presence touch us,

in order that we can be lifted from what overpowers us and be founded in his joy.

Like Abraham, Paul and the disciples of the Lord,God calls us to listen to our heart

of what concerns us, or what binds and overwhelms us.Raise up to him our response, and He will do the rest.

The Lord who «Spoke to Abraham in a vision »  promised him an offspring.  a wonderful promise  an enormous blessing,  one that does not belong to him yet but totally sheltered  the word of God guarantees it.

The Church cries today:« The Lord is my light and my salvation! »

We, the Church, are called to followJesus on the Mount of Transfiguration

before following him into the garden of agony. We will walk the path of his Passover

throughout Lent.

We will tread the path of his Passoverthroughout Lent,

and we will walk into the light of His gloryabiding under the shade of faith and of his passion.

LordYou steer us away to pray.

Still overcome by our human weakness, you enlighten us by your presence.

Grant us the grace to always seek your face foryou are our only help. Let us see your kindness

day after day, « in the land of the living »to draw courage and strength in you.

You are our only source of hope.We ask and pray with confidence to you

who loves us and lift us up.

« Faith without charity bears no fruit, while charity without faith

would be a sentiment constantly at the mercy of doubt ».
