GED (General Educational Development) Program

Counseling is Crucial • Any referral should go to local ABLE and

take the TABE.

• Review transcripts, TABE results, and goals of the adult before recommending best option for success.

–Can be done by the Provider, ABLE administrators, Faith Based Services, Agency Partners

Adult 22+ HS Diploma Overview

Adults, at least 22 years old

Local high school diploma

Pathway to Industry credential or certificate

22+ Eligible Applicants

Community school dropout prevention and recovery program

City, local or exempted village school district

Joint vocational school district

Community college

Two Payment Options

Option 1: 7 or fewer credits needed to graduate

$600 or each course or assessment

Option 1: 8 or more credits needed to graduate

$714 or each course or assessment

$800 for completing all courses and assessments

$5000 Maximum per year.

Program Requirements

Allow students to obtain a high school diploma while completing the requirements for an approved industry credential or certificate through a competency-based approach Provides career advising and outreach

Funding Formula

(Career Pathway Training + Work Readiness Training) × 1.2 for Associated Services)

Work Readiness Skills

High School Level (> grade 9) or above $750

Below High School Level (< grade 9) $1,500

Career Pathway Technical Training

Career pathway training program of 601-900 + hours ((900/30) × 160) = $4,800

Career pathway training program between 301-600 hours ((600/30) × 160) = $3,200

Career pathway training program less than 300 hours ((300/30) × 160) = $1,600

Associated Services (additional 20% of total program)

• $470 - $1,260

• Pre- and post-assessments – (e.g., TABE, WorkKeys®, ACT)

• Counseling and advising
