Agenda

It’s who we are, not just what we do,

Is it something that’s inside you too?

Can you rise to the challenge, and say

I want to support a life each day?

Do you want to change the way

A person copes from day to day?

Can you be the difference to someone,

To make them confident and strong?

Join us today,

So that you can stand and say……

We are Proud to Care,

For Gloucestershire we’re there,

To take the time to walk beside those

Who sometimes need a hand to hold.

We’re searching now for your light -

Raise it high and make it bright!

We’ll search for it everywhere,

To find those who are Proud to Care.

Song written by: Ellie O’Regan

Proud to Care Song 🎼

About Proud to Care South West Gloucestershire is one of sixteen counties in

the South West who have joined forces for

the Proud to Care South West campaign

aiming to bring more people into the Health

& Social Care Sector across the South West.

The campaign has identified three groups of potential

employees; 16 – 25 year olds, parent returners who have had

a career break and people 55+ (perhaps looking for a

second career that gives them real satisfaction).

A media campaign for Proud to Care South West (with

advertising on Sky TV, Facebook, Twitter, in regional

newspapers, on Internet Search Engines and selected

websites) is running July to December 2017, directing people

who are interested by the advertising to the Proud to Care

South West website, where they will be able to select the

county where they are interested in working.

Proud to Care

Gloucestershire In November Proud to Care

Gloucestershire is launching to

providers and will commence its

media launch to the wider public

in January 2018. This will include

Facebook Ads, YouTube Ads,

Google search enhancements,

Billboard advertisement, jobs fairs

- along with local press and radio

engagement; all of these

avenues will be pointing people

to www.proudtocareglos.org.uk.

From here, individuals will be able

to see all of the current vacancies

posted by Gloucestershire

Providers.

As well as a website offering a recruitment and retention

‘one-stop-shop’, Gloucestershire has a dedicated

Recruitment & Retention Co-ordinator (Rachael Hughes)

employed by Gloucestershire County Council to work

exclusively on this project, supporting providers/employers in

their challenge to meet the staffing requirements in their

workplaces.

Proud to Care Glos. is led by a multi-agency strategy group

who have devised a Year One action plan with key

outcomes identified. The Year One priority for the Proud to

Care Gloucestershire campaign is recruitment into the

Domiciliary care Sector, with ambitious plans in the pipeline

for future initiatives supporting both recruitment & retention.

Help Us To Help You: Case Studies

Share your inspirational stories with us! Proud to Care

Glos. is looking for individuals who would like to

feature in either short video clips or a short write up

about their career in care to help inspire others to

join the sector.

“I support Rob to help him

live as independently as

possible."

Jess loves her role as a

support worker; it’s hard

work but the rewards are

brilliant!

Hayley Bennett

(right) Active Living

centre Lead, and

Julie Kingston Active

Living Centre

Dementia Link

Worker – Community

Engagement lead

(left) are PTC

Gloucestershire’s first

two case studies -

their videos will be

on the website soon.

As a Gloucestershire employer, you can register to be part of

the Gloucestershire Proud to Care Ambassadors’ Partnership,

run in association with Skills for Care’s I Care…Ambassadors

initiative. Once you are part of the partnership, you can

nominate members of your staff to become Proud to Care

Ambassadors.

Proud to Care Ambassadors will be part of a network of

individuals working in the sector to promote careers in health &

social care to individuals considering their career options. This

will be through different careers activities such as; talks,

presentations, interactive group activities, information stands,

mentoring and media activities. There is no fixed time

commitment.

Why get involved the Ambassador

partnership?

Attract more people – One in four

people are more interested in a

career in care having heard from

an ambassador.

Boost your business – When your

staff share why they love their job,

it will encourage others to choose

or recommend your organisation.

Motivate your staff – 70% of care

ambassadors feel more confident

and motivated in their work as a

result of being an ambassador.

Develop your staff – Becoming a PTC Ambassador is a

fantastic learning and development opportunity.

Cut your recruitment costs – PTC Ambassadors can help

you attract more informed people who have what it

takes to work in social care.
