New Pedagogies for Deep Learning

The goal is deep learning through creation and use of new knowledge in the real world.

The learning process (for teachers and students) becomes the focal point for the mutual discovery, creation and use of knowledge.

Represents the reality that digital access and learning can occur inside and outside of schools.

Examples of Professional Learning Models in Oside 2.0 Schools

Mission: Teacher collaboration every 6 weeks, Andy & Glenda facilitate based on vision, differentiate for

teacher’s needs, key elements of effective instruction and pushing teachers transform practices using 4

quadrants

Palmquist: Teacher collaboration every 6 weeks, develop common understanding of 4Cs and develop lessons,

planning for observations to see examples and highlight best practices

Reynolds: Weekly PLC time for teachers to collaborate, analyze student work and plan for next steps

Del Rio: Provide PD and differentiate for all teachers by coaching, modeling lessons, offering study group

sessions for those who need extra help, weekly observations and coaching (not evaluative) conversations

with a focus on 4Cs
