Oats & Berriesa.k.a. Purple Porridge

A great and quick breakfast option with a good balance of fibre and protein.

Oats are excellent– they have a low glycemic index and they are strong in fibre and rich in micronutrients (B vitamins, vitamin E and several minerals).

ToolsBowlSpoonMicrowave

IngredientsOats (80 grams)Milk (150ml)Berries (fresh or frozen) (50 grams)

Vanilla Whey Powder (1 scoop)Cinnamon & Salt (a dash)

Put the oats into a bowl and add the milk.

Season to taste with cinnamon and salt. Microwave for 1 minute, stir and microwave for another minute.

Add the berries and mix in.

Give the mix a minute to cool and add the whey protein.

You’re done.Fridge to steaming bowl in under 5 minutes.

Notes

Plain porridge oats work well for this recipe. You can also get them with added wheat bran.

Depending on your taste buds you might want to sweeten with a little honey.
