Searching for articles in CINAHL
Using CINAHL
• CINAHL - Cumulative index to nursing & allied health literature is a great database to search for Nursing theory
How?
• CINAHL is accessible from the Library home page under Journal Articles. It is listed alphabetically and by subject under Nursing.

• Type in nursing theory in the search box• Ensure that the box next to Suggest Subject
Term is checked off• Click on the Search button

You will now see a series of suggested terms.
To view models of nursing theory, click on the Nursing Theory link

Click on Nursing Models Theoretical

You will now see a list of different nursing models
Simply click on the box next to any model

Let’s select Newman Health Model

Note that once we have selected a model, a list of subheadings appears and we can search for articles on our model by clicking on the green Search Database button

We now have 160 results.
We can limit this search by date, type of publication, peer reviewed, etc.

Click on the Show More link under the date slider

Click on the box next to Peer Reviewed
And type in your range of dates next to Published Date from

We now have 14 results.
To check if the article is available, click on the icon
