Vianova Systems proudly present: the first step into a true Infrastructure BIM system!
Presenter
Presentation Notes
Vianova Systems and the network, are a total provider of infrastructure solutions. So the natural focus is therefore INFRA.

A shift in the industry

From drawings to BIM lifecycle approach Changes in client procurements Collaboration between stakeholders Understandable model communication Predictable productivity increase

Presenter
Presentation Notes
So how do we see the trends in our industry. From drawings to BIM lifecycle approach New constructions in the industry have in the Nordics now focused on BIM models for a while. This is the case mostly for large and complex projects, and the list is not long; It’s also a list of PIONEERS. Focus has been on making models taking care of 3D mostly - and in some rare cases, the TIME & COST dimension. Trends now is that clients starts asking for MORE information - to take care of the whole lifecycle of a project. We think that this trend will grow stronger and stronger the coming years. We BELIEVE IN SUPPORTING a Infrastructure Information Model - with ALL RELEVANT information, taking care of the whole lifecycle. to drive up our total efficiency. Requirement for open formats will be required for the infrasector Changes in client procurement The CLIENT asks for BIM models that include all relevant domains (even as-built) More and more projects deliver models as one of it’s main result, This implies an increased need for systems that better handle this situation (from file-oriented to database-oriented solutions). And it implies ways of working where the model even includes process information: Who did what, when? Increased procurement of turnkey projects is also a trend. Collaboration between stakeholders We see examples from projects where a 1 month collaboration phase was added to the start of the project – to sort out a BIM-oriented way of working Between domains Between phases Between stakeholders in the value chain We also see trends of collaboration for financial models Collaboration contracts Alliancing Private Public Project WE BELIEVE THAT IMPROVED COLLABORATION IS A KEY TO improve the usage of models Understandable model communication The information society is growing, …..increase in information requirement from the humans STILL MOST OF THE PROJECTS ARE DONE TRADITIONALLY, NOT USING 3D/BIM. THERE’S A GREAT POTENTIAL IN THAT FACT: HOW CAN WE MAKE all PROJECTS IN 3D? BECAUSE POLITICIANS AND PEOPLE ON AVERAGE THERE DO NOT UNDERSTAND DRAWINGS. ONE DRAWING SAYS MORE THAN 1000 WORDS, ONE MODEL SAYS MORE THAN 1000 DRAWINGS. Predictable productivity increase

We have to change the way we work in the industry – change in the work processes is needed And here you see it documented – our industry isn’t doing good enough – but we will, won’t we

We pioneer the industry!

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Vianova Systems continue to pioneer the industry! We will no present a FRAMEWORK that support the Building Information Model-concept with Infrastructure focus We have no a framework that support Business Information Management, e.g.. Project Management for different stakeholders.

BIM for Infrastructure

Presenter
Presentation Notes
So what’s inside the solution, what is new? We are today presenting a open Infrastructure Information Model for you, based on an open ISO standard. We BELIEVE that GML will be a standard for our industry.

Infrastructure Information Model based on an ISO standard

Map/GIS information

Terrain information

Design information

Presenter
Presentation Notes
We have been pioneering inside 4 main focuses in the information model. Map/GIS information taking care of e.g.. area information New terrain model, with possibility of much more details ab. Existing situation Design data from roads to structures in fully detailed – with ready for a construction quality.

Integrated process model

Infrastructure Information Model based on an ISO standard

Presenter
Presentation Notes
4. Information Model We have now a process model that is fully integrated in our solution. This will help us to plan, manage and quality assure the work processes. This is maybe the most unique with our solution right now.

Benefits for infra players

Planner: Improved communication with stakeholders

Designer: Complete and far better project understanding

Contractor: Timely access to model information

Client: Full overview and control of the project

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Planner We will have improved communication with all stakeholders, because we have understandable model communication This can also help us with a improved efficiency considering the planning process Designer Better communication between the different domains inside the design project Better understanding of the complete project Support for the companies standardized work processes Access to all information down to object level Project Managers have a tool for traceability Contractor Always real time access to original design data, ready for construction Access to status of the virtual model Less conflicts between domains will help with better planning for the projects efficiency Client Real time overview to the complete project Supports new forms of procurement Less change orders ref. case studies > 4% saving in construction costs Improve the competitiveness for all parties in a project Eg. Økern Project in Oslo; Ulven-Sinsen: Traditional Enterprise, approx. 250 change orders of totally 600 changes/conflicts were due to design conflicts between domains Delivered collaboration model almost cero change orders Said from the contractor Veidekke: The 3D models we get for all domains, makes us working day easier and more efficient. There has been almost no design change/conflicts on this parcel, E22.

Benefits for the society

Improves democracy: better decision-making Speeds up the planning process

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Understandable model communication, improves the democracy Questions have been asked lately in Norway, is it possible to speed up the planning process – the answer is already yes – if we start to use model communication. Increased productivity and efficiency because we have started to enable creativity and innovation within planning, design and construction.

Goal: More infrastructure for the money Case study in Norway, 4,6% savings in construction costs Increased efficiency, productivity and innovation

Saving billions…

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Planner: BIM will help us to enable the best choice for our future, we make risk visible Designer: Increased collaboration and transparency between different domains Constructor: Increased efficiency and productivity, because of Less stop of machinery/equipment , because of correct information during construction Client: Minimize errors, – reducing overall project time and cost. Society” More infrastructure for the money” , Efficient production, operation and maintenance User; Better infrastructure solution, because of early analysis for e.g. road safety and different service levels.

Quadri Cloud Access to the model, for everyone, anywhere

Infrastructure Network Geo-referenced data along a network

Object model - based on ISO standard

Civil Engineering is COOL!

Together we move the industry 20% is technology – 80% is human

Presenter
Presentation Notes
When the Project Manager moves the Project Management in the models When all the Civil Engineers can collaborate with all domains When the Contractor will find information about what he is going to build When the Client can follow the project and have real time overview

True WYSIWIG model The model is in your hand Your data is more important than ever Creativity and innovation

Let’s move!

Presenter
Presentation Notes
What you from one company in Sweden sees, is what you in Norway sees if you allow him to see. The model is in your hand, why give it to a 3D department? It’s at your fingertips Use it and take care of the valuable domain knowledge you have and share it with others You give the objects value, and it will live in the whole lifecycle, and get more and more information – Use it! You can forget administration of files and focus on creativity and innovation – that is needed in our industry!

Changes in the industry require a good model

Work processes, CRS, Existing Infrastructure, Collaboration, Access to cloud and Interoperability

Lifecycle approach

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Create objects ones

Collaboration and transparency save billions

Presenter
Presentation Notes
New constructions within Rail and Road in the Nordic in 2011 was approx. 50 billion NOK (7 billion €) that's gives us 4% reduce because lesser change orders – totally 2 billion NOK (280 million €) We are saving time and money for generations to come!
