Notes from Ms. Hart

I am seeing an improvement in homework being completed and turned in. I think the missing and late work report in the Friday Follow Up on SeeSaw is helping stu-dents hold themselves accountable. Please continue to en-courage them in developing these responsibilities.

On the second page is the costume guidelines for the Fall Harvest Party that is coming up on Thursday, Octo-ber 31 from 2:30-3:30. Everyone is welcome to attend. It is a whole 5th grade party not just our class. A huge thank you to Heather Andersen for coordinating & planning for our class. If you can help with anything please email her

In Science, we hope to have our experiments planned today and plant our Wisconsin Fast Plants on Monday. These plants go through a complete life-cycle in six weeks and your child has picked a question to test.

We will be documenting the experiments and shar-ing progress on SeeSaw and through our Class Notebooks.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Ms. Hart

Ask Your Student

What is the question you are testing and your

hypothesis for Wisconsin Fast Plants?

Sunset’s costume policy:

Need to bring costume separately in a backpack or labeled bag

(older classes not wear to school, younger classes your choice).

Costume make‐up and hair spray cannot be brought to school.

Each child who brings a costume needs to be able to wear the

costume over their school clothes and not need to go to the

bathroom to change. Note: Please do a trial run to make sure

your child is able to put it on and off themselves.

If a student chooses to wear a costume, they should depict

friendly storybook or cartoon characters, famous people or his-

torical figures. Note: I am fine if a costume doesn’t fit into one

of those categories as long as it is not violent, evil, or scary.

Masks that affect visibility and safe movement should not be

worn. Note: Students may wear a non-scary mask for our group

picture, but then will need to take it off.

Violent or frightening costumes or weapons are not allowed

(such as Jason, Freddy Krueger, Scream character, bloodstains,

knives, guns, hatchets, etc.).

Note: A few additional costumes and accessories that would not

be allowed include: devil, zombie, voodoo doll, grim reaper,

and anything with guts or gore.

In general, if clothing is acceptable to be worn to school per

Sunset’s dress code, it’s acceptable to wear for the Fall Harvest

Celebration.
