• Exclusive license 96-C00333 from Sandia National Labs for patents # 5,279,795 (May 7,1996)
• Patent on two sensing technologies, a low concentration H-FET and a high concentration Chem-Resistor, giving a total concentration range from 50 ppm to 99.9%. Use of catalytic material Pd-Ni provides large range, minimal calibrations and hydrogen specificity.

H2scan Technology
• Pd readily catalyzes H2 (molecular) into 2 H (atomic).
• The atomic hydrogen moves into the lattice of the Pd (alloy) film.
• An equilibrium hydrogen density is reached proportional to gas concentration.
NeSSI Micro-analytics Workshop
May 4th 2003
• Hydrogen absorbed into the Pd alloy lattice changes the bulk resistivity.
• H2scan’s Hydrogen-Sensing Resistor (HRES) uses this property to measure Hydrogen from 0.5% to multiple atmospheres.
