Applus RTD can inspect the following elements (required according to EEMUA 159):

Beforeatestorinspection,avisualassessmentcanbeperformedbyacertifiedinspector.

Tankinspectionsarecarriedouttodeterminetheintegrityofstoragetankstosafeguardyouroperations.Lackofintegrity

cancauseseriousaccidentswhichcanbeariskforpeopleandenvironment.Ourinspectionresultscanbeusedtodetermine

whetherornotrepairsorreplacementisnecessaryand,ifdesired,todetermineariskbasedinspectioninterval.Besidestank

inspectionsforexistingtanksinthemaintenancephase,wecaninspectnewconstructiontanksandprovideconsultancyfor

engineeringanddevelopment.Furthermorewecanperformcertificationsonpressureequipment.

ApplusRTD’sservicescanbecalledinatanytimefromvendorinspectiontoinspectionduringconstruction.Projectsare

coordinatedandsupervisedfromAtoZandarecarriedoutaccordingtothenecessarycode(s).

ofadvancedtechniqueswhichallowustoinspectthetank

bottomefficientlyandaccurate.

SLOFECTMFloorscanner

ThecorrosioninspectiontechnologySLOFEC™(SaturationLOwFrequencyEddyCurrent)hasbeendevelopedasanewandsuperioralternativefortheinspectionofstoragetankfloors,pipesandvessels.Duetoitsuniqueproperties,itcaninspectthroughcoatingsofupto10mmthickness,copewithwall-thicknessesofupto30-35mmanddistinguishtopfrombottomcorrosion.Pittingonthetopsidedoesnotpreventthedetectionofcorrosiononthebottomside.InadditiontobeingasuperioralternativetoMFLinspectiontools,thesystemiscapableofcompletemappingofthetankfloor-,pipe-orvesselcondition.

LoRUS(LongRangeUltrasonics)

TheLoRUSmethodwasdevelopedinordertobeabletoscreentheannularplatesoftankfloors,usingamanipulator.Thiswillallowuserstodetecton-streamhiddencorrosionintime.TheLoRUSequipmentusesamanipulatortomovetheprobesandrecordthepositionandscandirection.Theultrasonicsignalsareprojectedaccordingtotheprobedirectionsandindicationsfromtheobjectunderexaminationarecolorcodedandpresentedina2Dtopview.

RTDINCOTESTforisolatedcomponents

RTDINCOTESTisthefast,accurateandreliablewayofsurveyingcomponentthroughtheirthermalinsulation.Inoperation,itdoesnotdisturbinsulationorcoatingsandprovidesaccurateresultsthroughaluminium,stainlessorgalvanizedsteelcladdings.WithRTDINCOTEST,insulationmaybehotorcold,wet,roughorencrusted,irregularorheterogeneousorevenwithwiremesh.Becauseofitsexcellentrepeatability,RTDINCOTESTisideallysuitedforbaselineandperiodicmonitoringsurveys.Withacrewoftwoanddependentonaccessibility,RTDINCOTESTcansurveyandstoreupto1,000pointsperday.Itmonitorsthedecayofaneddycurrentpulsewithinasteelwall,computingtheaveragemetalthicknessbycomparingthetransienttime(echo)ofselectedsignalfeatureswithsimilarcalibrationtests.

Beetlecrawler

Beetleinspectionisanon-streammethodforcarryingoutwallthicknessmeasurements.Wallthicknessinspectionsarecarriedoutregularly,inordertocomplywiththerequirements.TheBeetleisacrawlerwithfourpowerfulmagnetwheels,withanultrasonicprobeontheundersideofthesmallcarrier.Thesmallcarrier‘sticks’tothetankwallandcrawlsstraightupwardsalongtheoutsideofthetank.Paintlayersorweldingseamsarenoobstacle.Withaspeedof12metersperminute,itcrawlsupwardsandautomaticallymeasureswitha5mmdistanceinterval.

ThetankroofwillbeinspectedvisuallyandwithNDTtechniques.Dependingonthetypeofroof,ultrasonicwallthicknessinspectionisrequired,nexttodetailedvisualinspection.ApplusRTDoffersintelligentsolutionsfortheinspectionoftankroofstoensureintegrityandsafeguardyouroperations.

Digitalroofphotography

Highresolutionphotographycanbeatoolforourinspectorstodeterminetheintegrityofatankroofandtrusses.Thepicturescanbemadefromthebottomofthetank,eliminatingtheneedforscaffoldingwhichwillresultininstantcostsavings,andareductionofturnaroundtime.Dependentonthetankdiameter,asingleshotcangiveacompleteimageofthetankroof.Ifdesired,detailedclose-upshotscanbetakenaswell.
