MANY ENJOY MILITARY APPRECIATION DAYRALEIGH, N.C. - The final score wasn't the only reason that Wolfpack fans, young
and old, walked out of Carter-Finley Stadium with smiles on their faces on Saturday
afternoon. A day spent honoring the bravest and best, combined with a resounding
victory made the day extraordinarily special.
"We just feel proud to be a part of the tradition of serving our nation," said Zach
Tousignant, a senior member of NC State's ROTC program. "Seeing the support
from everyone here on a day like this makes us appreciate the Wolfpack nation."
Throughout the day, players and fans alike, took the time to thank the service men
and women of our nation through standing ovations and on-field festivities. In the
postgame press conference, head coach Dave Doeren's first words were how proud
he was to be a part of such a special event.
During timeouts and between quarters, NC State brought out military members
from the Navy, Army, Air Force, Coast Guard and Marines to receive individual
applause from the crowd. 55, 260 strong stood up every single time to show their
appreciation of our military.
"We feel like the university has always supported us. Everyone here has been
amazing in taking us in and showing us love." added Tousignant.
With a rich history of developing some of our nation's most prominent military

leaders, the Wolfpack has sustained a commitment to honoring those brave men
and women of our country.
Buster Glosson, William Ingram and William Lee are NC State's alumni involved in
leadership roles within the military. The strength exuded through those leaders
inspire the football team and the university overall to consistently show its respect.
One way the team paid homage was to don a special alternate uniform:
#IRONWOLF. The iron gray uniform honored the military through Pack Football's
motto: "Iron Sharpens Iron".
When asked about the uniform, Tousignant said, ""I think the jerseys are really
sweet. The design of the uniforms overall are really cool, especially since they wore
them for Military Appreciation Day."
On a day like this, the spirit of NC State was more than just about football. Through
honoring those who protect the freedom and liberty of this great nation ever year,
the Pack becomes stronger and more united.
