Study Tours and Short Course Programs
Hawthorn-Melbourne runs specialised training programs and other non-award short courses throughout the year, both on and off shore. These programs cater for a diverse range of clients from high school students to post-graduates and business managers and practitioners.
Study ToursStarting from 2 weeks in length, a study tour generally has the twin components of lessons – where the focus is on general conversation English, and activities or visits. This combination provides a balance of classroom time and outdoor social and cultural activities. The educational needs and background of each group is taken into consideration when designing the programs. Each visit is carefully planned to tie in with the formal classroom tuition, so that students have the opportunity to put into practice the language skills they have learned or practiced.
A 3-week July Holiday Program, based on the model of lessons in the mornings and activities in the afternoons, is also available for students enrolling individually.
Group Study Abroad ProgramsA range of credit-bearing programs consisting of English language and academic studies is offered for groups of university or college students. These vary from 5 weeks to 1 year in duration. Academic content is provided by the relevant school or department of the University of Melbourne and the amount of credit available is established in advance by the students’ home institution.
