The National Maritime Museum Art Club was formed to allow artists, with interests in marine subjects, access to collections, artifacts and documents within the museum, but not ordinarily on show to the public.
The club is open to members of the museum, who may be amateur or professional artists. Creative sessions are held monthly within the museum and at various satellite locations. The club also hosts periodic demonstrations and lectures.
Member’s work is permanently on show in the Members Room of the National Maritime Museum and on exhibition in external galleries.
