These are some of my favourite buildings that I visited during my holiday in Amsterdam. I like the aesthetical features of these buildings and the structural form they exhibit.

AMSTERDAM CENTRAL

Very attractive canal houses, all along the canals in central Amsterdam.

CANAL HOUSES

One of many different types of canal bridges in Amsterdam.

CANAL LIFTING BRIDGE

Picturesque way to see Amsterdam, many lovely houses and bridges,

lots of people cycling.

CANAL BOAT TOUR

Plaque at front entrance to Anne Frank’s house.

Visited here, interesting history.

The Waag in Nieuwmarkt formerly a city wall gatehouse

like the Bargate in Southampton.

NIEUWMARKT

Former Heineken Brewery, now a hotel that we stayed in.

DIE PORT VAN CLEVE HOTEL

Undergoing Repair, Rebuilding and Refurbishment.

RIJKSMUSEUM

Lovely park to cycle around Filmmuseum building here also looks good.

VONDELPARK

In Vondelpark, used to be a 19 th Century Pavilion, didn't go in here but

impressive building style to view.

FILMMUSEUM BUILDING

Attractive village to cycle out to for a drink, had a large Portuguese Jewish

community of 5000 before WWII but reduced to several families by the Nazi’s.

OUDERKERK AAN DE AMSTEL

Very scenic, nice to relax with a drink here.

VOLENDAM

Windmill Museum on edge of Amsterdam, many original windmills here.

ZAANSE SCHANS WINDMILLS
