idea for a music video.

video production & begin your initial creative

plans.

FINDING A BAND CAN

BE QUITE DAUNTING

But I don’t know anyone in a band…

YOU’LL BE WORKING

IN GROUPS

Someone in the group will know

someone, who knows someone etc…

If no-one in your group knows anyone

you just have to be proactive and step

outside your comfort zone.

WHERE CAN YOU LOOK

FOR A BAND / ARTIST?

METHOD 3:

WHAT’S THE PROBLEM

WITH EMAIL?

FINDING A BAND / ARTIST IS

YOUR 1ST

TASK

You need to be proactive if you want to make good progress.

What does the word proactive mean?

Why do people in video production need to be proactive?

TASK 1:

POTENTIAL BANDS

The first part of music video production is getting a client.

In groups brainstorm different ideas for finding a band or

artist on a piece of A3 paper.

Be as specific as you can. Do you know anyone? If you don't

then where could you find bands or artists?

TASK 2:

RESEARCH DATABASE

You need to conduct secondary research into local bands &

artists.

Each group needs to create a working research database (on

google docs) which should have the following:

Band

name

Phone no. Email Social

media

TASK 3 –

TEAM FEEDBACK

Team meeting: who have you found? Whose music do you

like? Who do we want to contact? What ideas have we had?

What are the next steps you need to make?

TASK 5 –

PLAN B

In groups create an open advert for your production team,

advertising your services as a music video production

company.

This could be in the form of a poster, or online advert.

Think about how they can contact you (do you have a twitter

or facebook page?). Make sure to include contact details on

your poster.
