Hello to all members and welcome to beautiful spring time. This month we have 2 runs booked in, 15th is the Avondale School Car Show and 22nd is “Lost in the Fifties” at Wall-send so a great opportunity for members to get their cars out and have some fun. We have also been approached by Gwandalan Summerland Point Lions Club who are hosting the “Big Spring Fair” on 22nd. If any members who are not going up to Wallsend on this date would like to take their cars along and show them please contact me for details. At our last committee meeting we passed some resolutions to help better manage the Club. It is important all members are aware of these. They are as follows:
Payment of membership fees – members can start paying fees at the April General Meeting and each General Meeting up to and including the Annual General Meet-ing in July.
Payments will only be accepted by members who attend meetings in person. This means that the mailing in of fees will not be accepted nor will passing fees to other members to pay on your behalf.
If any member forsees that they are unable to attend any of these meetings to pay their fees, they need to phone the club so the committee can consider their indi-vidual circumstances.
If a member is unfinancial after the Annual General Meeting they will not be able to attend any Club functions and will have to re-apply to join and pay the $40 join-ing fee.
Club concessional car registration – applications for club registration are to be submit-ted to the committee for consideration at the next scheduled Committee Meeting. Renewals will only be accepted when a member is in attendance at a General Meeting.
Members are reminded that at the end of each financial year, they must hand in their old concessional registration travelling authority cards before they receive their new one. Any member who is unfinancial, or does not have the authorised run card, or has not filled in the run card correctly is deemed to be unregistered and must not use their vehicle. Club registrars will conduct spot-checks of run cards for compliance.
Attendance at club functions – members need to ensure that they RSVP by the re-quested date so the organisers can adequately cater for the attendees. If members are unable to attend due to unforseen circumstances at late notice, please call the club phone to advise.
Also, it is unreasonable to simply turn up on the day without notice. All members are expected to contribute to the success of functions by volunteering for
(say) barbeque cooking and cleaning up afterwards. A minimum of two volun-teers will be required on a rotational basis at each function.
For larger functions such as our harbour cruise, Christmas in July and Christmas cele-bration members who indicate they are attending will be required to pay a $10/person deposit that will only be refunded on the day of the function.
Again to all members, please get behind the Club and support it so we can continue to enjoy the benefits it provides. Jeff
