Mobile reception

There are ways to improve your mobile phone reception,

but but don’t get caught out. Make sure you know what’s

legal and what’s not.

Your provider can advisewhich products are legal.

In the car, use a mobile hands-free kit with an

external high-gain antenna.

Two devices may land you in trouble. Mobile phone boosters are banned and

repeaters can only be used with your provider’s written

permission. Both can interfere with mobile networks.

Using the wrong device could mean a hefty

fine or even land you in jail. But it’s not just

about you—boosters or unauthorised

repeaters can block reception during an emergency.
