Put together and have ready prior to party: • “BOOK TO LOOK” packets (make 15 envelopes--use 9x12 with brackets on
top so you can reuse these)….put the BOOK TO LOOK on the outside of each envelope and put a booking incentive gift inside….only ONE will have the jackpot in it.
• Preprinted sheets ( Fab 5, Tell Us What You Think, Set Sheet, Sales Ticket) • Eye catching sets using the BUILD YOUR OWN BAG. Suggestion: use
empty bottles in Satin Hands bags or Miracle Set Bags….these are for display only
• Have your Roll-up Bag filled and use for your demonstration at the party • Have tickets/coupons ready (you can get these rolls at Walmart or most busi-
ness supply stores….use the tickets that have one for the customer to keep and one to put in the drawing)
• Goodie bags • Marketing packets (include in them: recruiting tape or cd, marketing litera-
ture, business card)….put them in MK signature bag and tie with a bow Party Outline: • Welcome and meet the guests….how do they know the hostess…..what do
they do for a living….if they could get something more in their life what would they want?
• Introduce Self and Thank them for coming….be sure to cover 100% product
guarantee…...having one consultant for a lifetime…...this is not going to be like ANY other Mary Kay party they’ve ever attended….so sit back...have fun and we have a pre-approved $100 line-of-credit for everyone….
• Hand out BOOK TO LOOK envelopes…..have them repeat after you, “This envelope….can get…..my hostess…..$100 of FREE Mary Kay product!” Explain that there is a JACKPOT inside ONE of the envelopes...let them pick the one they feel has the jackpot inside…..THEY CAN’T OPEN THESE!!
• Begin presenting the products….romancing each set on the Build Your Own Bag Set sheets…..spend the MOST time with skin care and Day/Night set. Let them try the products on the backs of their hands…..
• Between the presentation of each set...give a little signal upon which the guests
will pass the BOOK TO LOOK envelopes clockwise and all guests will shout, “Mary Kay Rocks”…...or if it’s a grand opening party, “Laura’s gonna be GREAT!” or whatever catchy little phrase you want to say as they’re passing the envelopes…..Also...have one guest read one of the 12 benefits of being a Mary Kay consultant on the envelope out loud.
• After showcasing and romancing the sets it’s buying time…..show the roll-up
bag and how it’s your goal that they all leave with their own bag….. Give them 10-15 minutes to fill out their sales tickets and meet with you at the kitchen table (this helps a LOT if there are other consultants there to help fill orders and bag product). And….remind them that as soon as they’re done or-dering they should get their snacks and meet back in the living room for the BIG drawing for the prize that REALLY rocks!!
• Also…remind them that the guests gets 1 ticket for each $10 of product or-
dered that night (not including sales tax) • Move them along quickly and have them reconvene in the living room….when
they meet with you and order product let them take an envelope with the “This entitles you to $10 of FREE product at your next purchase with me” coupon in it…..explain that this is to be used at their color appointment OR they can give it away to a friend...and when that friend gets together with the consultant then the person who gave it to the friend gets DOUBLE the gift certificate….keep it and it’s worth only $10….give it away and it’s worth $20….this will book color appointments for you and get referrals!!
• Once all back in the living room, tell them that there is another way they can
earn some tickets…..have them pull out the BOOK TO LOOK envelopes and explain that when 3 of them book parties then the hostess gets $100 of FREE Mary Kay product…..Say, “Who’s going to be the first to help Jane out?” When they do they get 5 extra tickets……. Really work on this one…..don’t give up too easily….have fun with the crowd…...double the prize inside the envelope if you have to…..3 bookings MINIMUM…..
• Lastly ask…. “Can you all tell I like doing what I do?” Well, I’ve got 10 tick-ets here and I’m gonna have you ask me questions about my job…..Don’t ask me what my favorite product is….because that’s not about my career….Ask me mechanical and technical questions about how MK works…..like what would you want to know if you were gonna give this a whirl….Let’s pretend
• And….the first person to ask a ? Gets 2 tickets and if you ask the bonus ques-
tion then you get 2 tickets, too……(The bonus question is, “How much does it cost to get started?”---when someone asks that say, “Ding, ding, ding, ding...that’s the bonus question.”)
• Have them each fill out TELL US WHAT YOU THINK form and do a quick
drawing for all of those for a little prize (eyeshadow, samples,…..)….turn in to your director…..
• After going through the ten tickets for questions about your career say,
“(Consultant’s name) or I’m learning how to build her (my) team ...and how to explain the facts and figures of Mary Kay. If you’d be willing to take a little packet of info home with you tonight and let us follow up with you I’ll give you an extra 5 tickets for our drawing. Who’d be willing to take my packet?”
• Pass out marketing packets…… • Talk about how the hostess won the Sterling Silver Ring (or whatever BIG
prize you are giving away) because she had $500 in sales….then do drawing from tickets to give to guests ANOTHER big prize since the sales criteria was met…...quickly explain Fab 5 brochure and send them on their way!! Get the dates down for the 3+ people who booked their parties...
