ACTIVE DIRECTORY
ACTIVE DIRECTORY : WHAT TO EXPECT
DURING MIGRATION
Step 1: Computer must be joined to the AD domain
Step 2: Local user profile must be joined to the AD
Technical Support staff will visit each user to join computer to the AD domain
User ID and password will remain the same
User will continue to login using Novell client until the cutover
NOTE: User must be present to successfully migrate local user profile to AD
ACTIVE DIRECTORY: WHAT TO EXPECT
CUTOVER Once all users/workstations are joined to AD domain, Novell client will disappear
Users will login to the network via the Windows login only Users ID and password will remain the same
All H:\drive and S:\drive letters will remain the same
ACTIVE DIRECTORY : WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE?
Cleanup desktop and any local files to minimize size of your local profile
Save all files on your H:\drive
Try to rename any network file names that are too long : MS has a limitation of 255 characters

Microsoft Outlook desktop client and Exchange w eb client will be used to access ne w email At Cutover, email will onl y be accessible via the w eb client until the Outlook desktop client is configur ed
