Learning Objectives At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to: • Apply updated knowledge of internal medicine to clinical practice • Apply updated knowledge of dietary choices in control of hypertension, identify and treat
common dermatological conditions, understand the evolving definition of sepsis, and how to best provide favorable outcomes in clinical practice
• Improve clinical practice by incorporating major new developments in subspecialty medicine • Understand recent advances in internal medicine • Increase confidence in performing clinical skills • Understand political advocacy and reform • Identify common causes of medical career fatigue and how it can be prevented
CME Accreditation The American College of Physicians is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The American College of Physicians designates this live activity for a maximum of 21.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

A Chapter Excellence certificate will be awarded at the meeting by the College representative.

Overall Winners: One Resident member winner from each category (highest score poster or oral) will be automatically accepted at the 2018 ACP Internal Medicine Meeting for a poster presentation and receives up to $1,000 towards expenses to attend the Internal Medicine Meeting in New Orleans in 2018. The overall top winner of the medical student program will be supported by the chapter in full to attend Internal Medicine 2018.
Society of Hospital Medicine, Michigan Chapter Abstract Competition: There will be three resident and one medical student awards which will provide $1,000 travel stipends to attend the annual 2018 National Society of Hospital Medicine meeting.

If you are enrolled in the ABIM Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program, you must also order an “official” copy of the module directly from ABIM by visiting www.abim.org/online.
