The Election, Inauguration and first couple of weeks of the new administration are be-
hind us and we seem to be as busy as ever. The CCGOP has moved to a new, larger
headquarters at 2650 Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd, two doors from our old location in the Big Lots
Shopping Center. The space assigned to us was, bluntly, pretty rough a few weeks ago
but has been vastly improved through the efforts, talent and hundreds of hours from
Bob and Cat Stash and Tamara Leonard. Thanks also to our moving team of Bob and
Cat, Tamara, Ron Cherry, Jerry Cox, Tim Mason, Wayne Strausbaugh, Earl Dail Sr., Bill
Harrison and his assistant Paul. Painting was done by our wonderful trio joined by a
phantom, Ceil Wasserman and me. As you enjoy our new facility please thank those
who helped make it happen with their donations of time and money.
Precinct meetings are being held during the month of February, with mass meetings
scheduled for February 16 and 24 at HQ. You must register as a Delegate to our Spring
Conventions at your Precinct Meetings, exceptions granted on a case-by-basis. Our
Annual Convention will be held at the Court House Annex on Broad Street Saturday,
March 18. Registration 8 – 9, meeting 9 to noonish. We will be conducting the busi-
ness of the party and electing new officers for the 2017-2019 term.
Looking ahead, our District Convention will be held at the Greenville Hilton April 29;
the State Convention will be held June 2-4 at the Wilmington Convention Center. This
is the closest State Convention location for us, commuting distance if you chose
attend. Please plan to join us in Greenville and Wilmington as it is also an election year
for district and state officers. I am running for District Chairman this year and appreci-
ate your support in Greenville.
Now for the fun stuff…our Reagan Day Dinner, featuring Lt. Governor Dan Forest as Keynote Speaker, is Friday, February 17. Tickets are available at HQ Monday mornings and Thursday afternoons, on-line at www.cravengop.org and through me at

252-626-8199. Dan is the future of the party in North Carolina as well as a tal-ented, gifted speaker who is always interesting and informative. Ad sales for the Program are complete with a new record set in terms of number of color ads and a very healthy total number of dollars to invest in our candidates and outreach for the party. Thanks to our ad sellers and our advertisers. Linda and I were privileged to be able to attend the Inauguration of our 45th
President on January 20. To say that it was a moving experience is an under-
statement. The event was flawless in spite of the inclimate weather, President
Trump’s speech great, his Cabinet choices are outstanding and the amount of
work accomplished in his first two weeks in office mind-boggling. It is my fer-
vent hope that there will not be a Democratic Inauguration during the rest of
my lifetime. God Bless America, Donald Trump, Mike Pence and the Craven
County GOP. There are so many to thank for our current success BUT we can’t
rest on our laurels as we must keep working and fighting to make things hap-
pen to save America from many years of neglect and abuse. If you are person-
ally not involved in moving the needle I invite you to join us in this battle.
Carl Mischka, Chairman
