Welcome to 3rd Grade

1.Where do I put my supplies?

If you have them, put them in your desk.If you’re bringing them tomorrow, that’s okay

too.Donated items can go on the back table.All supplies should be here by Monday, Aug.

2. Where do I line up in the morning?

Line up outside the classroom door. We are next to the Kindergarten area. You should wait in line quietly starting at 8:40 in the morning.

3. Can I bring a snack?

Yes! Keep snacks simple such as cut fruits or veggies, goldfish, etc. No candy please.

4. Can I bring a water bottle?

Yes, water bottles are a great idea. Water bottles need to stay on the floor next to your desk to avoid spills.

5. Where will my backpack go?

It can stay on the back of your chair or you can pick a spot in the closets on the first day of school.

6. What time does school start?

The first bell rings at 8:50. Second bell is at 8:55.

You need to be here and sitting down with the second bell. Please try to be on time every day as we have lots to do in third grade.

7. Will we have homework?

Of course. We have homework binders and get to choose our homework from a menu. Homework is due every week. Sometimes we have special homework.

Our first special homework is to collect stickers and pictures to decorate our writer’s journals with. This is due on Friday, August 20th.

8. Will third grade be fun?

You bet. We learn awesome things like cursive handwriting, writing personal narratives, reading more challenging fiction and non-fiction stories, geography, and great science activities.

I love to have fun in my classroom with lots of movement and activities. I loved school when I was a little girl and strive to make school fun for you too!

9. Who is this Mrs. Staples?

Mrs. Staples is a third grade teacher at Fall River.

This is her 9th year of teaching.This is her 1st year at Fall River.She loves to read, ski, garden and go on

vacations.She has a husband (Eric), 2 children (Ella &

Thomas) and 2 black labs (Daisy & Lily) at home.

She cares deeply about her students and is always willing to help them learn.

She was born in Colorado and love living here.
