•Web 2.0 allows the user tointeract with the page known asDYNAMIC PAGE; instead of justreading a page, the user may beable to comment or create a useraccount. Dynamic page refers tothe web pages that are affectedby user input or preference.

• Folksonomy – allows users tocategorize and classify/arrangeinformation using freely chosenkeywords (e.g. tagging). Popularsocial networking sites such asTwitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.use tags that start with a poundsign (#) or hashtag.

• Rich User Interface – content isdynamic and is responsive to user’sinput. An example would be awebsite that shows local content. Inthe case of social networking sites,when logged on, your account isused to modify what you see intheir website.

• User Participation– the owner ofwebsite is not the only one who isable to put content. Others are ableto place a content on their own bymeans of comments, reviews, andevaluation.

• Long Tail – services are offered ondemand rather than on a one-timepurchase. This is synonymous tosubscribing to a data plan thatcharges you for the amount of timeyou spent on Internet or a data planthat charges you for the amount ofbandwidth you used.

• Semantic Web– is a movementled by the World Wide WebConsortium(W3C). The semanticweb provides a framework thatallows data to be shared and reuseto deliver web content specificallytargeting the user.

• Compatibility-HTML files andcurrent web browsers could notsupportWeb 3.0.

•Security – The user’s security isalso question since the machineis saving his or her preferences.

• Vastness-The World Wide Webalready contains billions of webpages.

•Vagueness – Certain words areimprecise. The words “old” and“small” would depend to theuser.

• Logic- since machines uselogic, there are certainlimitations for a computer to beable to predict what the user isreferring to at a given time.

1. Convergence– is the synergy oftechnological advancements towork on a similar goal or task.For example, besides using yourpersonal computer to createword documents, you can nowuse your smartphone.

2. Social Media– is a website,application, or online channelthat enables web users to create,co-create, discuss, modify, andexchange user generatedcontent.

a) Social Networks – These aresites that allows you to connectwith other people with the sameinterests or background. Oncethe user creates his/her account,he/she can set up a profile, addpeople, share content, etc.

Example : Facebook and Google+

b) Bookmarking Sites– These aresites that allow you to store andmanage links to various websiteand resources. Most of thesesites allow you to create a tagallows you to and others easilyshare them.

Ex. : StumbleUpon/Pinterest

c) Social News– These are sitesthat allow users to post theirown news items or links to othernews sources. The users can alsocomment on the post andcomments may also be rank.

Example: reddit and Digg

d) Media Sharing – These are sitesthat allow you to upload andshare media content like images,music and video.

Example: Flickr, Youtube andInstagram.

e) Microblogging– These are sitesthat focus on short updates fromthe user. Those that subscribedto the user will be able to receivethese updates.

Example: Twitter and Plurk

f) Blogs and Forums– Thesewebsites allow user to post theircontent. Other users are able tocomment on the said topic.

Example: Blogger, WordPressand Tumblr

3. Mobile Technologies – Thepopularities of smartphones andtablets has taken a major riseover the years. This is largelybecause of the devices capabilityto do the tasks that wereoriginally found in PCs.

3. Mobile Technologies –Several of these devices are capleof using high-speed internet.Today the latest model devicesuse 4G Networking(LTE), whichis currently the fastest mobilenetwork.

iOS– use in apple devices suchas iPhone and iPad.

Android – an open source OSdeveloped by Google. Beingopen source means mobilephone companies use this OS forfree.

Blackberry OS– use inBlackberry devices.

Windows Phone OS – a closedsource and proprietaryoperating system developed byMicrosoft.

Symbian– the originalsmartphone OS; used by Nokiadevices.

WebOS– originally used insmartphones; now used insmartTVs.

Windows Mobile – developedby Microsoft for smartphonesand pocket PCs.

4. Assistive Media – is a non-profit service designed to helppeople who have visual andreading impairments. Adatabase of audio recordings isused to read to the user.

•Web 2.0 – websites that contain dynamiccontent.

•Web 3.0 – a concept of the World WideWeb that is designed to cater to theindividual user.
