St. Paul of the Cross Passionist Retreat and Conference Center...WhileSt.PauloftheCrossPassionistRetreatCenterservespeoplefromalloversoutheasternMichigan,theyarelocatedinaspecificneighborhoodcalledBrightmoor,inthecityofDetroit.Thesephotosrepre-sentsomeoftherelationshipstheyhavedevelopedwithpeopleworkingveryhardtomakeBrightmoorandtheentirecityofDetroitabetterplace.

Whilethismayhavebeenthefirstinteractionoftheyoungandsoon-to-be-ordainedseminarianwiththePassionists,itwasnotthelast.Thereisawell-knownphotographofthe NuncioRoncalli,ashevisitswiththePassionist MissionariesinBulgaria,whileridinginthebedofavintagetruck.
