The Current State of Marriage…• In 1993, Congress passed DOMA,

the “Defense of Marriage Act.”

• Feb. 23, 2011, President Obama directed the Justice Department to no longer defend DOMA, if it is challenged in the courts.

The Current State of Marriage…• For years, presidents have

proclaimed the first Thursday in May as National Day of Prayer.

• President Obama declared June, 2011 as "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month."

The Current State of Marriage…• Religious pollster, George Gallop

reported a poll about a month ago, that, for the first time in history…

53% of Americans favor “Gay Marriage.”

“Magnetic North” is moving, so that now…

no 2 compasses pointin the same direction!
