PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
On Wednesday we celebrated Education Week with a BBQ lunch followed by a student-teacher-parent game of T-ball. We were lucky that it was a beautiful afternoon so that everyone could participate and have a great time. Thank you to those parents who were able to attend. The children certainly liking having you involved.
It was a pleasure to award Molly and Lennard with the Directors Leadership Award for their efforts this year. The children were very surprised and proud to receive these.
As mentioned previously, week 5 is Book Week and we have ac-tivities planned including a visit to the Coolamon Library and a Character parade on the Tuesday.
Thank you to those families that have already paid in full for the excursion. We will be finalising numbers in the next couple of weeks before making all payments. The excursion is certainly coming up very quickly and the children are very excited about our trip away.
Next week Mrs O’Neill will be at school for Tuesday and Wednes-day whilst I am away.
Over the last week we have been working with the children on making positive comments to each other. On a Monday and Fri-day morning the children have to make comments and ask about what others did on the weekend so that we feel valued and im-portant. We had an interesting discussion last week about bully-ing and the children were all surprised and shocked about some of my personal experiences with bullying when I was a student at school (a couple of years ago!!). As a result of our discussions I have been noticing a change in some students on how they react and talk to others.

Welcome to the first ever Captain’s Report .
On the 6th August the
Little Athletics people
came out to Marrar. Only
one person came and her
name was Jess. She told
us that Little A’s do lots
of different activities that
are associated with lots
of different athletics
events. We did seven ac-
tivities. The first activity
was we had to throw two
hula hoops onto two
cones. The next one was
the discuss one. We had
to roll a discuss through
two mini hurdles. Next we had to weave around a bunch of cones. Then we had to jump
over mini hurdles. The last activity was that we couldn’t touch any cones so we had to step
in between each cone. Overall, it was fun and we wish they could come again!
On Wednesday we had a barbeque lunch for Education Week. A few parents came in and
had some sausages and played a game of tee-ball with us. Before we played tee-ball Mr.
Adamson handed out two leadership awards to the Captains (Lenny & Molly).

JOURNALISTS’ CORNER
The zombie miner
My name is Jack. My friends are Reece and William.
Me and my friends always go past the old mine. Some-
times we hear a zombie noise. That’s why we never go
into the mine.
Some nights I see the zombie but my friends never be-
lieve me.
One day Reece dared me to go into the mine with Wil-
liam and himself. Then we went into the mine. William
said, “something is between the crack.” “ It’s….it’s a
bottom!” said Reece.
“Maybe we should leave” said William. “No!! Look!
It’s….it’s the zombie miner!”

This term it has been really cold and super windy. We are doing a thing called Awesome August, where
everybody says two nice things to someone on Monday and Friday.
A lot of people have been playing handball and some of the seniors have been doing a challenge on the
playground equipment. Jesse, Aleasha, Elliot, Donald and Chelsae have been playing a cat game.
Yesterday afternoon at lunch I was kicking the football with William D.
We had a BBQ lunch on Wednesday and some parents came in and we had a game of t-ball.
In September we will be going on an excursion to the Blue Mountains.

On Wednesday 7th we had a BBQ at school. Angel and Will helped Mr Adamson with the
sauces. Mr Adamson did not burn the sausages surprisingly because he is the best cook. By
the time they finished cooking the sausages it was time for lunch. I had about three then
after we finished eating, everyone had a little play. Mr Adamson rang the bell so that all
the students had to sit down in assembly lines. Mr Adamson handed out two special
awards. He called out Molly Pattison and she got the Director’s Leadership Award. Then
he called out Lennard Stone’s name and he got the same award.
They had photos, then we stated playing again. When the bell rang we got into teams to
play a game of T-ball. Some
of the parents that were
playing with us got out
straight away. After the
game we sat down in our
teams and Mr Adamson
asked two people from
each team to say something
nice about their captain.
After that we had to go in-
side and we got 10 minutes
of free time.
