Master Objectives

•  Knowledge and control of the phenomena involved in energy systems for their design and optimal operation;

•  Energy systems based on fossil sources or on new or renewable energies from economically viable sources;

•  Knowledge to be acquired: �  new energies �  energy efficiency �  transversal skills

UEMF Profile

. The UEMF profile aims to provide the student with:

- Certified multi-lingual capabilities (2 languages alongside the mother tongue)

- Control of ICT tools (Information and Communication)

- Knowledge in entrepreneurship and innovation management;

- Discovery of the history and civilization of the Euro-Mediterranean region in order to better share its rich heritage

• The laureates of the Master will also be prepared to pursue doctoral studies by conducting high-level research activities on the thematics of the Master.

Skills to be acquired

• Understand the phenomena involved

• Assess the potential of renewable energy and sizing of the facilities

• Master the process of generating renewable energy

• Operate an energy system based on renewable energy

• Conduct a study of the economic evaluation of projects

• Evaluate and optimize the energy performance of a system

• Achieve the integration of an industrial site in relation to utilities

• Use the relation between water and energy to develop and manage industrial and urban systems.

Opportunities

Training to address the needs of qualified human resources to support the national strategy on energy issues:

• The development of the industrial sector

• The R & D in this field.

The laureates may be employed by:

• Industries: engineering companies, manufacturers, electric power generation plants, electricity distribution regulators

• R & D Laboratories

• Commercial: any business where the energy consumption is an important item in their operating costs.

Prerequisites

• Knowledge required:

Solid scientific basis on Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science.

Degree required:

- Bachelor in Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics and Computer Science,

- Professional Degree in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering

- Other equivalent qualifications

Laboratory work

Theoretical training will be, for several courses, supplemented by practical work taking place in the laboratory to facilitate the understanding of physical phenomena.

Lab work topics include: - Transfer phenomena and thermodynamics - Energy production - Energy efficiency measurement

To this may be added : - visits to production facilities and energy management, - interventions of professionals and industrials involved in the field of energy.
