Lucy Lacrom. Larcom was

one of the young girls that

worked at the textile mills

in Lowell.

However, before you begin

this assignment it is

important to take time to

think about what we

already know.

Seen here is Samuel Slater. He is often credited with starting the Industrial

Revolution in America because he memorized the plans to a British mill and

brought them to the United States.

Eli Whitney developed the idea of interchangeable parts. Now

factories could make one part that could be used in a variety

of products. This made running factories profitable (able to

make money).
