London
London is the capital city of England and the United Kingdom. It’s situated in the South East of England with a population of 14 million people.
London has the river Thames, which runs through the middle of city and it is 215 miles long.

The Houses of Parliament is where the two Houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (Houses of Commons and Lords) meet to run the country.

Big Ben isn’t the clock on the tower, but the bell inside. It is one of London’s most popular attractions.

Buckingham Palace is the official home of the Royal Family. When the flag is put up on the pole, it means that the Queen is in the palace.

The Tower of London is a historic tower in the centre of London. It was a fortress, a royal palace, and a prison. At the moment, it has flowers called poppies as a tribute to the people who died in World War One.
The London Eye or The Millennium Wheel was built in 1999. It is 170m high and you can see the beautiful London skyline
from the top.
The Tower Bridge is a bridge close to the Tower of London which gives it its name. It is on the River Thames. Ships can go under the bridge. If the ship is big, the bridge goes up.

Trafalgar Square
Trafalgar Square is a famous square in the centre of London. There is Nelson’s column and the National Art Gallery, a famous art museum.
The Globe Theatre

The original theatre was built in 1559. Many of William Shakespeare’s plays were performed here and still are today. It is an open air theatre.
