Challenges youth advocates face:

• Exclusion of girls and young women from leadership and decision-making processes and positions.

• Barriers to- and (physical) attacks on- girls and young women’s rights to speak out in public or online.

• The discriminating portrayal of girls and young women in the media, which in turn confirms and reinforces gender stereotypes and roles.

• Make sure you make it easy and accessible for youth to participate.

• Have policies in place that are youth friendly and have people working who understand and can communicate with youth.

Youth advocate is joining the monthly meetings of the GAA together with the National Child Rights Coalition in Liberia. Theyare working on engagement with Human Rights Accountability Mechanims on International Level.
